son of a bitch...American was 3rd at 11-1, beaten a 1/2 length and had no where to go for the longest time. Still paid $9.00 on the end.

GPK 11-21-2007 06:43 PM

races 2-4 pick 3

2,4,5/4,5,7/4,6,8

Just saw the last 1/2 mile of the 1st race. Guessing Dube got the old Meadowlands shuffle, 1st or 2nd then all of a sudden sixth with no where to go. He looked like a winner when he finally got out, then had to go back to the inside and had nothing left.

Yeah..was full of run for a long time with nowhere to go. Once he got running room, it was too late.

GPK 11-21-2007 06:54 PM

dammit all...Marigot Express was a winner...til going off stride. Freaking trotters..

GPK 11-21-2007 07:14 PM

Perfect trip and drive by Gingras on Destiny Springs.

MaTH716 11-21-2007 07:18 PM

That kid is good. Do you get the feeling that if you are not one of the boys at the Big M, the regulars make it tough on you? The 9 was so wide on the first turn that he paid the toll for the turnpike.

Yannick is very solid. Love betting him on a price.

Notice Tetrick has dominated here like he has elsewhere?

MaTH716 11-21-2007 07:31 PM

2 of the most brutal trips I have ever seen

MaTH716 11-21-2007 07:32 PM

Where the hell was Andy Miller going? He had nothing on that backside brush, what was the hurry? He forced Tetrick to go like 8 wide.

GPK 11-21-2007 07:34 PM

that horse opened up at 7/2 and went off at 12-1....unreal.

1-2-5.....dem's my numba's....dem's my birthday numba's....I always play dem numbas....cept this race.

I wish JC would have been able to tuck early. He had horse, but used a bit too much to clear early.

GPK 11-21-2007 07:39 PM

Race 5

Proud Moment

MaTH716 11-21-2007 07:40 PM

JC's horse seemed steppy early, thought he was going to break, Maybe that's why he went to the front. The four horses that stayed on the cones ran 1st to 4th. Andy Miller kind of scattered the field when the anchor came out. So much about my theory about the outsiders not winning, but that is why he probably went off at such a price. People think these guys have no shot.

Pick 4

6th-9th
1,5/1,4,6,7/1,3,5,9/3,6,9,10

GPK 11-21-2007 07:52 PM

Laura Jones breaks her maiden in her debut at 8-1 (15-1ML). So tough to get a gauge off qualifiers...

I have to admit, I really do not do that well in Harness. I have a tough time with the conditions and qualifying races. I played 13 races last Sat and didn't cash a ticket, it was very fustrating. I do tend to trying to beat the chalk.

Its very similar to T-breds in the aspect that alot of it is about the trip. I followed Balmoral religiously for quite some time, and when the horses are racing every 7-10 days, it makes it a bit easier to cash back on the troubled trips.

I need to give of the T-Breds and go back to the 1 mile harness tracks at night.

MaTH716 11-21-2007 08:28 PM

I watch the Big M alot, and it seems when one of the horses are in good form, they can beat almost anyone. Plus it seems like the same horses race against each other every week. Another angle I have trouble with is horses coming over from 1/2 and 5/8 mile tracks. I just don't know what to do with them.

I will just about always bet against a horse coming off a win at a short track from an inside post. The great majority of the time, they will be overbet. I tend to try and find horses from those tracks coming from the outside, that may show even just the slightest bit of closing kick. There can be a ton of value there.

MaTH716 11-21-2007 08:39 PM

I do try to bet what I percieve to be closers. There are just so many variables with these horses. With the T-breds, you know who will probably be on the lead and who will be coming from behind. With the trotters, a speed horse that has an outside post might try to tuck and wait.
By the way I just noticed no Sears tonight.

I noticed that too...that was why I liked Proud Moment in the 5th. He was scheduled to drive and I took that as a good sign. Didn't work out..:o

Early 30's...Michigan guy...was one of the top drivers at Hazel Park for a while.

MaTH716 11-21-2007 08:51 PM

Good luck in the last leg of the pick 4. Been Chalky so far, maybe you can get a price home here.

MaTH716 11-21-2007 08:58 PM

Just saw the will pays anywhere from 142 dollars to 412 dollars. By the way Greg Merton always seems to be live when he drives at the Meadowlands.

I will be surprised if his horse in the 9th doesn't take some serious late money. I was surprised at the early action Tetricks horse took.

DD for 9-10

MaTH716 11-21-2007 09:12 PM

He was confidently driven and had the perfect trip. Manzi sitting like a statue in the stretch, he is such a stiff.

winner was 12-1 ML, opened up at 9-5 and wins for fun at 5-1

MaTH716 11-21-2007 09:21 PM

Merton's horse was 7-2 ML and he didn't take any money. You really have to watch the board at that place.

MaTH716 11-21-2007 09:29 PM

Did you have the exacta? I know those were your 2 double horses.

outofthebox 11-21-2007 09:34 PM

Heading to the Breeders Crown on Sat night. Cant wait to try out the new Racing Eye form. Is it an optical illusion or does the starting gate have an staggered start giving the outside post a little head start?
