There are doubts, he won on the most hilarious turf course of all time.....proves nothing.

Thus even making the win even more suspect because he didn't romp at anything he did

well scav ya couldnt expect DT to turn in a top preformance today regardless of the going could ya? his last race was too close to today especially with the traveling the horse had to do inbetween,as good as the horse is its just way too much to overcome

I swear when he turned for home and opened up, the first thing I thought about was, damn GBK is gonna be so freaking happy. I totally understand, when Pleasantly Perfect won in Dubai, the neighbors called to see what was wrong. And keep in mind, the house is on 5 acres so the neighbor is a decent distance. :D When we told her why we were so excited, there was dead silence on the other end......freaking non-horse racing people! :D

I gotta say, just like others have, when EC struck the front the *first* thing I thought was,,, "well, GPK is going ape-sh*t right about now!!"

I guess I didn't realize he was being retired after this race. What a way to go out. Awesome performance!! And yes, it was an absolute R-O-M-P!!!!

I must say that the last two races by English Channel really changed my opinion of him. I always just thought he was a decent horse that was very overrated and never got it done on the big day. Then he showed incredible guts going up the rail in the Turf Classic and followed it up with a brilliant performance in the BC. He totally won me over with those two starts. Too bad I'm on board too late to enjoy him run anymore.

He was helped by the very weak group of older turf horses this year. He is a good horse but this was a really soft year and BC turf in particular.

True, but he did what a good horse should do against that sort of field and crushed them.

No need to be sorry Chuck. He has his BC Turf win and they cant take it away from him. EC may not have been the best turf horse to ever run...but he provided this dumbass quite a few thrills the past few years. I hate to see him retire...but really....he has done enough.
