Moose on the Loose! in Fonda N.Y.

A large moose was spotted wandering the area of Rt.334 last evening one mile from my home and the village of Fonda N.Y. As of 7am this morning he or she was seen in downtown Fonda with at least 100 onlookers chasing him between Main St. and the Mohawk River. It's the first time in recent memory that such an animal was seen in the village. More excitement continues later on in the morning with the demolition of the old county jail about a half mile where the moose was spotted. Who says there's no excitement in the Mohawk Valley! :)

Are they going to start the ""running with the moose's"" in Fonda now ?
OR is this a Marketing ploy by a Canadian Brewery ..""The Moose is Loose"?

Sounds like a great time for another Suffy Quicky Vacay.

Mortimer 10-02-2007 08:27 AM

She may ,perhaps, deem it wise to employ the melodic whispering of the Riccola Bros. horns to capture this beast.

Or she could just let her hair down and shake her tail feather at it.

Now that would be an interesting photo set.

UPDATE ALERT!!!

Here are photos of the "Moose on the Loose" in downtown Fonda N.Y. this morning. Shortly after 9am, said Moose was wandering around the vicinity of my workplace. Again, several area people watched in awe as the 2 year old "cow" moose was cornered in an abandoned trailer park that was wiped out by the "Great Flood of '06". He or she remained against a fenced area for 4 hours until NYS D.E.C. officials could tranquilize the animal and remove it to safety. This moose and two others have been reported in the area the past week. He or she may have been the one that was "tagged" and place in Northern Saratoga country last Fall after it was seen swimming around the Hudson River in Waterford N.Y.

Did you cry when the jackass refused to go home with you?

Mortimer 10-02-2007 03:48 PM

He's not my type. I'm into the short, fat and handsome who backwheel every horse in a race.

*wink*

The Betsy thread.

Ah..I never would have remembered. Great ghost clips in there. The one about the auto accident was a little too far over the top for me.

But the others are REALLY scary!

Mortimer 10-02-2007 04:01 PM

Hey!

No, that's the other fool's thing. I don't go that way. Forget the advice, you obviously aren't up to it. I'll get back to you if I have any questions on Sringer or The View, though I doubt I ever will have any.

I will if you admit to being a dollar menu millionaire.

I might if I knew what the hell that was. The millionaire part, it's not a big deal. If you are 35 and earn $100k, you'll need $3 million at 65 to generate the same buying power.

You only have 3 million dollars and you live in Miami? Is your trailer bigger than the FEMA ones?

Hickory Hill Hoff 10-02-2007 04:43 PM

Wow.....didn't think a thread about a loose moose would be so interesting.....

but then again.....a lot on threads here are like "bad" acid trips.

The pool house? Nah, more like 10'x12'. Slab, no basement.
