peegardn's college top 10
1. LSU - incredible defense, get the best players from east texas and Louisiana
2. Florida - they are back 3. Oklahoma - offensive juggernaut 4. USC - dont take Neb. win seriously (Neb is BAD) but its not their fault 5. West Virginia - bunch of fast guys that are hard to tackle 6. Ohio State - defense and an emerging offense 7. Oregon - have played very well so far 8. California - rounding out an offensive pac-10 9. Boston College - appear to be very good right now... the season is long 10. Penn State - untested but they have some talent Notables left out: Texas - horrible offensive line right now, defense gives up big plays, shallow at RB Wisconsin - totally unimpressed at present The truth: At present, the top 5 are interchangebable. All are very capable of becoming BCS champions. |
1. LSU
2. Ohio State 3. Oklahoma 4. USC 5. California 6. West Virginia 7. Florida 8. Clemson 9. Oregon 10. Boston College Omissions that are regretted due to a loss or lack of information (not seen them play) or they are getting better Rutgers, Miami, South Florida, Virginia Tech, Georgia, Texas Teams with good records who I dont think are good. ARizona State Mich St. Wisconsin Hawaii Conn. Kansas |

USC Oklahoma, Cal, Oregon, Florida, WVU, Clemson, OSU= all are interchangeable, wvu is the weakest of the bunch. Rutgers-consistant both sides of the ball Hawaii-is a flying circus USF- consistant both sides of the ball VT-has trouble scoring Miami-improving OSU- looks to be the best team in the big 10. the whole big 10 is average at best. the big 12 is joke, oklahoma in a walk over. Pac 10- offensive circus, USC plays the best defense. |
1. USC
2. LSU 3.Oklahoma Forget the rest... |

But Ohio St. and USC look very solid all the way through. Ohio State has a very good defense so they can stay with anyone just like LSU, even on a bad day. We shall see. Injuries, offensive lines getting into a groove could change everything quickly. |
Please guys, let's try to remember, it is THE Ohio State University...

Florida is right up there with any team and they are the defending champs. No florida fan but give respect. I do think LSU and USC will be the two teams when the smoke clears. |

Too early and until bcs is gone it is bs!
LSU in my opinion is the best but anyone can get beat on any certain saturday. How can penn state be number 10! They lost to michigan again you can like ohio state but don't count out wisconsin. winner of wisc-osu game in my opinion will win big ten. Unfortunately the bcs screws us of a real champion. You people in florida can say your champ from last year, but really the only undefeated team was boise state and they should have played ohio state not florida. The bcs is a joke and should be called bs. The little guy doesn't get a chance and that is why the march madness is the best!

Gee. I'll bet you do majic tricks. |
South Florida wasn't even in the polls till what, three weeks ago or so? Now they are the #5 team in the country? I don't buy that. I know how the rankings go when a team loses, they move down and all another team has to do is not lose, no matter who they are playing. But there is just no way in the world that I'll believe South Florida is the fifth best team in the nation right now. They'd be huge underdogs playing Oklahoma, USC, or Florida. Again, understanding how rankings go, sometimes, common sense has to come into play. Florida, yeah they lost but come on. They lost AT LSU, in the final minutes of the game. A quality loss like that shouldn't move a team down. If they hold LSU on one of those fourth down plays, right now Cal is #1 and Florida would be ahead of LSU. Am I to believe that one play is the difference between LSU being 12 spots ahead of Florida and Florida being ahead of LSU? USC, if that receiver doesn't make that great catch for Stanford in the end zone, is still ranked in the top three but one play dropped them down to #10.

-Do u believe South Florida is really the fifth best team in the country? -Would u take SF over Florida, USC, or Oklahoma? -If LSU would have been stopped on that last 4th and 1 and Florida wins the game, do u not believe that Florida would be ranked ahead of LSU today? -Do u believe that LSU is really 12 spots better than Florida? -Do u believe that USC would have fallen out of the top three if they had won the game? |

USC shouldn't even be ranked at this point. They lost to a cess pool of a Stanford team. They struggled mightily with a Washington team that OSU hammered. Their signature win was over Nebraska, whom Missouri absolutely pummeled worse than USC did..indicating that USC probably isn't nearly as good as those two teams...granted they are both undefeated and in the top 10 teams...but anyway. They should not be in the top 20...perhaps a 21-35 ranking would be appropriate for them. So the last two years they have lost to Orgon State, UCLA and Stanford. The SC myth is quickly coming to an end. They are not that good. (I'm being a bit melodramatic, great program, but they are completely out of the National Championship picture in my mind even if they beat Cal and the rest of the PAC 10. You lose to Stanford, you should be done.)

I think the Browns should have been in the received votes area ....it just shows you how whimsical these polls can be.

I'm not saying that this week alone should put Florida ahead of South Florida. After all, SF did beat the same Auburn team that beat Florida. SF obviously has a talented team. I just can't see them as being as superior to Florida as the polls would indicate. The practice of automatically dropping down when u lose is silly. Florida's play in the loss was better than 90% of teams play in their wins. The polls always have been and always will be a sham. |

And I for one think USF can play with any team in the nation if they play well with the possible exception of LSU that will pummel any team if they play well. I do not think LSU gets to a bowl game undefeated this year. |

uf is over-rated. if you don't let tebow run around and make him stand and thrown the ball he can't beat you. lsu and usc are still the 2 best teams in the country, imo. You know one of these games, at least one, will end up a nail biter. (Kentucky and ARk. can score. Aub. and Ala will be ready to play tough) I feel they will lose one of these or... The SEC title game. |
lsu defense can shut down the uk offense. arky doesn't throw the ball well enough and makes to many mistakes in general. the barner offense is balanced and they play pretty good defense. Bama will be lucky to be within 14 pts.

BCS Standings
1. Ohio State 2. South Florida 3. Boston College 4. LSU 5. Oklahoma 6. South Carolina 7. Kentucky 8. Arizona State 9. West Virginia 10. Oregon 11. Virginia Tech 12. California 13. Kansas 14. USC 15. Florida 16. Missouri 17. Auburn 18. Hawaii 19. Virginia 20. Georgia 21. Tennessee 22. Texas 23. Cincinnati 24. Texas Tech 25. Michigan The most over-rated: Boston College Arizona State Kansas Hawaii Texas Tech It should be noted that the vile Steve Spurrier has done an incredible job at S. Carolina. The best team is still LSU. When they get the Early one back, and if they can get to the BCS championship game, they will win. Ohio State is still not respected by many but I think their Defense warrants consideration of being very worthy to beat any team. I think if Sweater-Vest man blings up, his charges would not be the object of ridicule. A big gold chain medallion from Maurice Clarret would boost morale and respect considerably. |
