Just for kicks - GREEN MONKEY Contest

Let's see just where everyone stands on the issue of THE GREEN MONKEY, as he debuts tomorrow at BEL in the 4th race facing 5 others.

The M/L odds in the DRF are as follows:

1 - SIXTHIRTEEN 3:1
2 - BUJAGALI 15:1
3 - ROI MAUDIT 5:2
4 - THE GREEN MONKEY 8:5
5 - HOLLA BEND 6:1
6 - SECRET DESIGN 6:1

All should include Finish Position, Lengths (either in front of the 2nd place horse or behind the winner), and a brief comment if you do so wish.

I'll go with THE GREEN MONKEY to WIN by 8 lengths (1 length for every $2MM)

Obviously, I'm no Pletcher lover, and you have to figure this horse is up against it, but how can you truly root against him?

Pletcher's Monkey by two lengths in hand

Zaf 09-14-2007 10:37 AM

ROI MAUDIT by a head

MaTH716 09-14-2007 10:40 AM

Rain in the forcast, I am saying scratch.

brianwspencer 09-14-2007 11:55 AM

I would hate to bet him with my own money, so I won't -- but I've got to think he's ready to go if Pletcher is finally tossing him into the fray after so many setbacks.

I still don't think his breeding is $16M worthy -- but I'll say Green Monkey takes it under a vigorous ride by a hard fought three-quarters of a length.

I'll say he finishes second, beaten a length.

If he does run, he will win, but it will be a hard race for him. More than likely he will be scratched though.

AngelSita 09-14-2007 01:10 PM

cal828 09-14-2007 11:53 PM

The Green Monkey wearing blinkers by Bill Blass, a diamond encrusted bridle from Tiffany's, a saddle of the finest Italian leather specially designed and made for him by Gianni Versace and silver shoes will prevail by the length of Todd Pletcher's money clip.

swedejxn 09-15-2007 11:29 AM

holla bend leaves the monkey green with envy

DerbyCat 09-15-2007 11:38 AM

I think he'll break quickly from the gate, battle for the lead, then pull up and be eased off. He'll be retired after the race because, let's face it, he's done enough! :p

Ronnie 09-15-2007 01:43 PM

JV is gonna gun the monkey and Holla Bend is gonna chase him down to win. I have no idea where the monkey is going to finish.

NoChanceToDance 09-15-2007 02:39 PM

He just looks slow.
