Zito at Toga

Well 5 for 53 isnt too bad (9%). But he is 5th in money with $767,862.00. Just goes to show that you do not need to win in this game to make money.

I kind of disagree with what you're saying. . . You may not need to win, but the guys who finish last aren't exactly getting rich. . .

Heels1989 08-30-2007 12:27 PM

Borel is another example. 9 wins nearly $2 million in purse money. Not a bad 6 weeks.

Yeah, it's pretty sickening isn't it?

whodey17 08-30-2007 12:31 PM

Not obsessed, just trying to back up my prediction from a couple of years ago when everyone called me crazy.

However, there is a fine line between quality of wins and the ones that you do win.

I don't understand what point people are trying to make. Borel has earned all that money from WINNING big races. . . It sounds like the only reason for this thread is some kind of anti-Zito thing. . .

Yep.

Coach Pants 08-30-2007 12:38 PM

I can't stand Ziti. Now Penne is excellent.

Penne > Ziti.

My prediciton was the Zito was going to earn less that $4mm this year and that he was going to keep declining as a trainer in all major statistcial categories.

Your disdain for Zito on a personal level should have no bearing on what he does professionally.

Of course it is an anti-Zito thing. It doesnt take a genius to figure that out. But I made a prediction and I am backing my prediction up with numbers.

The two are unrelated. My prediciton was based on declining numbers from the top trainers of the 1990's. Do I enjoy that he is having a so so year--YES. But that is just topping on the ice cream.

The sickening aspect of this is that your only concentration is on Nick Zito. What about the other trainers having a so-so year? Your obsession with Zito is a tad bit ridiculous.

whodey17 08-30-2007 12:46 PM

I also reported on Baffert and Lukas (2 of the other top trainers in the 90's). But I did not make predicitons about them.

Imagine that, numbers declining....other interests? Have any info to back up the number of head he has now compared to then? Nobody cares but you.....why don't you PM yourself?

02-525
03-507
04-449
05-459
06-422
07-312- so far.

These are the number of starters. Again, on the decline. Once again proving my prediciton that he is a declining trainer.

Coach Pants 08-30-2007 12:53 PM

He's on a decline because there is nowhere to go but down. He's accomplished more than you would if you had ten lifetimes to do so.

What a hater.

dr. fager 08-30-2007 12:53 PM

Yeah, he couldn't quite possibly be choosing to not take as many horses.

You think you're Einstein, you're really just a tire salesman.

So...

Less horses = declining trainer according to your PREDICTION?

MisterB 08-30-2007 01:18 PM

I remember Shug going 0-34, or something. They all have a slip now and then, but most are hall of famers:)

cakes44 08-30-2007 01:21 PM

How could you do anything BUT decline a little when you're always racing on the same circuit as Pletcher?

10 pnt move up 08-30-2007 03:19 PM

5/53 is not so hot, what is baffert 4/7 with crappy west coast stock?

ArlJim78 08-30-2007 04:18 PM

has to be screwed up to care about being correct that certain trainers will have declining wins. what kind of bs is that?

handicap some races, and back it up with statistics.

honestly man do you think anyone cares about your dumb prediction? pat yourself on the back if it makes you feel good, but by posting it it just makes you look petty.

you're right, it wasn't crappy stock he came out there with, far from it.

fpsoxfan 08-30-2007 04:23 PM

Zito is having a rough go of it, but he's still a great trainer. Lukas hasn't had the stock he's had in the past, therefore he's struggled. If I was a horse owner, I'd let either one of these guys train my horse in a second. People go through slumps. Everyone wanted Torre's head at the beginning of the season. How the Yankees doing now? Stinking pricks.

When you have the right horse, it can take you anywhere !

BTW.... is the rest of your sig. ..""she gave me a vegamint sandwich ""?

The Bid 08-30-2007 04:39 PM

All I care about is Zito got the Cherokee Run firster to pay over 14 bucks. He made my meet, godbless Zito

i was trying to solve your sig line... and that song just popped into my mind.

GenuineRisk 08-30-2007 04:58 PM

My buddy from Australia would never let me rest if I didn't correct this- it's Vegemite, not vegemint. Vegemite is practically a national food Down Under, I'm told. Because convicts will eat anything.

(Kidding, to any Aussies on the board!)

fpsoxfan 08-30-2007 05:11 PM

I was always thought he was saying "piece of my sandwich" That is really funny. It's always a good day when you can learn something!!
