Awesome Twist

Everyone is throwing out "Twisty" today.

Wassup with you guys?? LOL

Where are all you Budweiser long-shot people?

I've been thrown OFF other message boards for using the phrase "Chalk Eating Weasels", so I'll be sure NOT to use it here... LOL

Who has the the PP's on Twisty? Does he not fit in this race? I saw one of his races where he was DEAD last going into the stretch.. then he passed the whole field like they were standing still and won by 12 / no whip.

I think he recently ran second in a tough 7f sprint. I think he's DIEING to go long. PLUS,,, I like Javier on him. He fits Twisty great.

Kimmel seems to think he'll do well and I personally think he can at LEAST beat half the pack.... which of course is no good from a wagering standpoint but I'm not so sure you'd want to leave him out of your superfecta wager today... LOL

Seriously though.. Be careful friends,,, If he's right and the race unfolds in his favor,, he "may" do some good today. Don't forget,, he's already got 2 wins over that surface. That aught to count for something.

I'm gonna call the groom on his cell... see if Twisty ate his breakfast this morning... LOL.

I'll be right back.

I think he's a nice horse, for sure. But i kinda feel he's best as a late running sprinter.good luck with him today!

ArlJim78 07-28-2007 10:53 AM

there's lots to like other than the 12 post and the fact that he has never ran a 2 turn race that would threaten these.

They tell me that stretched out sprinters are always a threat.

This horse should not even be in this spot. He is the one horse with zero chance. Nice horse, mismanaged in at this distance.

Just in case you're right,, I'd be interested to box your trifecta picks. Can you help me out?

eajinabi 07-28-2007 11:55 AM

I really like Awesome twist too.

My bet will be

$10 Ex Box Awesome Twist - FairBanks

Bobby Fischer 07-28-2007 12:16 PM

they messed him up last time they tried to stretch him out. He comes back and closes at his distance, then they want stretch him out again.

If you hit this exacta you'll have to call Brinks to haul off the money.

sometimes a threat, not always. depends on the situation.
His wins are at 6.5 furlongs or less. I like the horse but not in todays conditions. For these times this is one of the deeper Gr1's you'll find.

Left Bank 07-28-2007 03:13 PM

Looks like he just cannot get it done in graded competition. An Allowance or minor stake, maybe?

It was worth a shot putting him in. I think a shorter distance would be a good option, and the condition?...not my choice to make.
If he was mine, I'd look for a 7f G3.

Travis Stone 07-28-2007 05:53 PM

He should go in the Forego.

eajinabi 07-28-2007 06:34 PM

Awesome Twist came dead last.
I really bombed on that pick.
I thought the closers would reel them in but they did not.

Oh well.

I think a perfect spot would be like the pat obrian at del mar on the polytrack.

eajinabi 07-28-2007 06:41 PM

Maybe a trainer switch

I don't think that's warranted.
Twisty was in over his head today.
Shorten him up and put him against easier and he'll do ok.

10 pnt is entitled to his opinion without a "put down", which you seem to be good at.
Let the experts speak. Your jealousy is too obvious at times.

Coach Pants 07-28-2007 08:51 PM

I didn't print his past performances because he was the only one on the page. I didn't want to waste paper. I'm an environmentalist yanno.

Another put down from the expert handicapper and meteorologist!
Oh my!!!!

maybe a bit overstated but I always liked him, of course I am not as familar with him as you probably are.

and of course he helped get prado to new york

Coach Pants 07-28-2007 09:54 PM

Give the horse to Pletcher and let him train him for a good 6 months and I guarantee you this horse would win grade 1's going two turns. That's not a knock on Kimmel...it's just a fact in today's game.

That's fine with me. I thought it was an appropriate response to that drivel.

Although if anyone would like to defend Pletcher and the horses performance then please do so. I always enjoy a good laugh.
