Spa Predictions 2007
 

We are two days away from the Saratoga Meet and I thought it would be a good time to throw some predictions out there. Please feel free to throw some of your own as we embark on this 36 day journey. Thanks. Pat


1. Garret Gomez wins the Jockey title.
2. A no brainer...Pletcher wins another trainers title
3. Kent D. comes in the top 4 in the Jockey's win total.
4. Chuck Simon saddles 4 winners including Sumwun.
5. Record Opening Day Crowd
6. Travers crowd is over 45,000
7. Mark Hoffman A.K.A. Hickory Hill Hoffman finsihes in the top three of Saratoga Media Handicappers competition.
8. FPSoxfan makes amends with people on DT who think he's a prick and we end up smoking cigars and having a great time.
9. Filberto Leon rides one winner.
10. Win, Lose, or draw we have a blast. Hey Hoss, we will have that beer together!!!!!!!!! Good luck everyone!!

Ha! If my experiences with members of DT at big meetups is any indication, you're pretty much assured of accomplishing #8.

You'd have to be one of the world's biggest assholes to get on the group's bad side. Huge one.

My predictions

Rags to Riches and Curlin will not race at the Spa this summer

Eibar Coa continues his hot streak and takes the title

Pheltcher wins but has a battle

50,000 for the Travers

72,000 "listed" for the Spinners for Jim Dandy.

I, sadly, will not be making it for opening week.

I hope you're right Brian. Remember, I had a bad habit of posting when I was half in the bag. I have a few who are still trying to figure me out. I just hope you are right. Are you going to be around?? Hope to see you there.

I'm not able to make it this year. I tried, but next year is a certainty!

I know you came off rough, don't worry -- it's impossible for anyone to have a bad attitude at one of those get-togethers. Everyone is even more easygoing and fun than they could possibly seem on here.

My boldest prediction...Dallas Stewart takes the duck

1) Velasquez wins the riding title
2) Pletcher wins the training title
3) Kent D doesn't finish in the top 4.
4) Opening day crowd will not be a record
5) Wagering will be down this year compared to last
6) Travers has the potential of being the best race of the year
7) Travers has the potential of being one of the worse Grade I's ever
8) The Spa will have the best racing of any track in the U.S.
9) The 2008 Derby winner will break his/her maiden at The Spa.
10) DT'ers will rule the city of Saratoga like no one has since Gates and Arnold crushed the Brits, Germans and Indians

You should buy a round just for being from Fort Plain. :D

Many people might find some of your predictions confusing, but you are on target with many. #6 and #9 are very possible.

LOL I'm coming up on Friday Night, we rented a house on Saratoga Lake this year. I will be there for Whitney Day!!!!!!!!!!!!! And you?

LOL...Jim Dandy Bar 2:30 Opening Day and then Saturday. As far as Filly, he picks up 3 or 4 mounts a meet. Unless he's put on a pound or two, he should be in good riding shape. Nonetheless, Meet you at Leon's for a Margaritta. :)

Dallas doesnt win a race (REVISED)

Dallas doesnt run second in any races either

sumwon breaks her dt maiden, visits the winners circle and finds it to her liking, decides to make it a habit.

Poor Dallas, if he only had some better owners and better-bred horses. :D

- Rags to Riches will race in the Alabama

- The Green Monkey will make his long awaited appearance, go off the favorite - and lose to a horse who cost less than $100K.

a prediction i'm gonna throw out there...bill mott will have a excellent saratoga meet at some nice prices, expect some of his horses to do well and kent desormeaux will break the top 3 in standings ;)

Calvin Borel will ride 4 or more winners and pay morew than $24

3 of those 4 will be trained by Ian Wilkes

The last one will be a Helen Pitts baby

Raul Rojas wins the riders title.
Jeff Odintz noses out Scott "runway model" Schwartz for the trainers title
Cowtown Cat wins the Travers.
D. Wayne Lukas trained horses show a flat bet profit for the meet
The Green Monkey breaks his maiden in the King's Bishop
Rags to Riches is a surprise entrant in the AP Smithwick hurdle race, and is pulled up before the first jump.
Andy Serling and Jan Rushton are spotted making out on top of the pool table at Clancy's at 2AM.

A crackhead who drives a big Ford truck... LOL :D
