Saban wants to play the IRISH
Alabama coach Nick Saban just reported that he would love to schedule Notre Dame and play them every year. This would be a huge game that would attract a lot of interest and high ratings (but which ND game doesn't get high ratings???) Does Saban know what he is doing, does any team really want to play notre dame 2-4 years from now??
I am also 100% sure that Notre Dame will beat Michigan at the Big House this year. It will be very similiar game to that ND Michigan game at the Big House two years ago. ND will not be a big passing team this year, and it looks like their QB will be Demetrius Jones, who is very mobile and fast. These are the type of QBs that give Michigan fits. ND will play solid defense, throw some short passes, and run the ball down Michigans throats. ND 13 Michigan 10 BOOK IT! |
ND lets not get crazy here, the defense better improve greatly or they are in for a rough year.
|
It would be 2010 at the earliest and Alabama would destroy Notre Dame. I hope it's scheduled.

You weren't alive during Notre Dame's glory days and what, you were s.hitting in your diaper the last time they won a championship? I remember this game http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_WhYurBrH1E I was almost 8 years old at the time and that hit was just awesome. And of course there is 1992 when Bama just ran it down the Hurricanes' throat and the defense had Toretta dancing in the pocket like a crackhead who just scored a 3 gram rock. But those days are gone and presently Bama has much more potential to succeed than Notre Dame simply because we have a head coach who can recruit the right players on both sides of the ball. Bama has suffered through years of probation and an offense that has been subpar, especially the offensive line. That's stopping this year. It's going to take Bama a few years to return to greatness. You'll see a real football team by year three and a contender by year four. All of you haters can keep on hatin'. Roll tide! |

Maybe it's another Nick Saban. The one I remember went 9-2 in 1999 at Michigan State while beating ND, Mich, Penn State and OSU. But Nick found a way not to get it done and that team lost to Purdue and Wisconsin. That Nick Saban? Maybe it's another Nick Saban. You can't take away the LSU '03 BCS win but that game certainly could have gone either way. And of course the seniors on that team were not Saban's recruits. That Nick Saban? Maybe it's the Nick Saban who made a ton of lousy decisions last year with the Dolphins and took a team picked to finish high in the AFC to a sparkling 6-9 finish. He's not a bad college coach, but he's far from worth what he got to go to Alabama. |

You Irish fans are beyond delusional... thanks for the comedy this morning! :D |
As for Bama playing Notre Dame... I'm sure they WOULD like to play them. Notre Dame has a cupcake schedule... playing Bama would be like playing another USC for them.
|
signing a 6-8 year home and home would be GREAT for both schools. Bama-Psu had a 10 year series and fans of both schools were sad to see it end. nd won't sign for that long and IF they did, nd would buy out of it after Bama smacked them around a couple years in a row.
Bama will be back but it will take 3 years. there is just not enough depth, Yet. Saban has talent right now just not enough of it. nd best days are behind them. lineman and defensive players don't want to play there, evident by this years recruiting class. i was in Birmingham oct 4,1986, the day granny holtz brought nd to town. Biscuit Bennett put on the second best defensive show i've ever seen. Bennet hit steve berlien SO HARD, berlien had 3 broken ribs and a concussion! i have the poster of "The Hit" hanging above my computer as i type. Bama 28-nd 10 and it Wasn't that close. i think Legion Field was louder that day than any Bama-auburn game, i've seen. ROLL TIDE ! |

Cupcake schedule??? Notre Dame plays Michigan, Penn State, Michigan State, Georgia Tech, and USC. Give me a team that doesn;t have a few easy games on their schedule, then try giving me a team who plays USC and Michigan every year. |

Your team is more likely to lose at Penn State in week 2 than beat Michigan a week later. Hell, I'll be laughing hard if you lose to GT at home opening week. Your team was lucky to win that game last year. And, son, people don't hate ND football. We just hate their fans who are the most obnoxious-spoon-fed- pasty-faced-fattest-azzed-stumble-bum-drunk-on-two beers bunch one could ever come across. Watch out for Purdue. Triple revenge this year. Now go get drunk on one beer. |

AHHHHHHHHHHHH YESSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It's not my fault your programs don't have the storied past and all the tradition that is Notre Dame. It's apparent that none of you have ever been to a Notre Dame football game. I have been to the Big House two years ago when ND beat them 17-10, I was at Michigan State last year when ND cameback and beat them, and I have been to a lot of games at Notre Dame stadium, and no other place compares to that of the house that Rockne built. TOGETHER AS ONE SHOULDER TO SHOULDER, CHANTING HER GOLDEN NAME NOTRE DAME FOOTBALL 2007 |
on a side note, there is nothing better than being a Notre Dame fan because I know how much you guys truly do envy Notre Dame. I don't know what it is with all the ND haters, but I find it to be pretty funny. I understand how it is, if I wasn't raised a Notre Dame fan I would probably be pretty upset and envy the Irish as well, but I was just one of the lucky ones. Instead of the hate, you guys can convert over, I promise you will enjoy college football a lot more as a Notre Dame fan.
GO IRISH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |
I'd like to also add that I hate Notre Dame because they have the most ginger fans of any school with Boston College running a close second. It's an epidemic.

Irish, YOU are the perfect example of why everyone roots against nd. fans like you have NO respect for anyone period.
i've been to to more stadiums than you and that includes nd stadium. it has ghost but NO MORE ghost than any of the other super powers of college football. as for nd fan, sure they travel well but when they are losing they sit on they're hands. i watched navy kick nd's ass in baltimore. navy footballed in the last 2 min. and nd kicked a 45 yd, fg to win. the only time nd fans cheered all day because it was the only lead they had.nd fans ran from the stadium like rats off a sinking ship while the navy fans gave those kids a standing O. so don't tell me about nd fans. nd has NO MORE tradition or history than Alabama, michigan, oklahoma, usc or texas. |

The main reason I hate ND fans is they're just the f***ing ugliest group I've ever seen. You can walk the campus all day in S. Bend and not see one decent looking woman. |

their O-line is no better and neither is the defense. |
I feel bad for all you haters. You guys are all gonna go jump out of the nearest building or off the nearest bridge after ND wins a National Championship in 2-3 years. Charlie said in the next 2 years Notre Dame football will be back to the top, and will stay at the top for good. I would stop watching college football if I were you guys, unless you want to see ND win Championship after Championship.
SentToStud, the selection of women at ND doesn't matter to me because the University I go to has PLEEEEEEEEEEEENTY of good looking women. I don't think when your a 6 year old kid you start liking a football team because good looking women go to that school. Tradition says it all! |

Yeah, a true freshman QB who was the highest rated recruit in 30+ years. And no, Clausen will not be the starter this year, and he will probably get red shirted if I had to guess. Junior Evan Sharpley will probably get the benefit of the doubt, with Demetrius Jones also getting a lot of playing time and possibly being the starter sooner than later. |
