would DerbyTrail be considered a college of sorts??

videogirl10 07-10-2007 11:33 AM

keeneland does a thing where college students can win schlorships.. maybe if it the turn out is big.. and you continue, you can incorporate this somehow.

I guess I'm getting old because I have no idea what this is. Is it like a bizzaro bikini contest where the winners are the ones most needing a bag over their heads?

Illi people call soda--- pop as well?

thought it was only a southern thang.

Also, i have never heard of an establishment selling jello shots, especially not a race track... i must be getting old, ahhhh college

I dont think its a southern thang to call pop. Down here everything is "Get me a Coke", no matter what you drink.

It is the new craze around here and at college, you get hammered while throwing these 'bags' in a hole. think bozo buckets with beer and only one hole

Only at Arlington, and Haber in charge......

dellinger63 07-10-2007 11:57 AM

awesome idea question is who is going to pick up Downes?

Chuck 'bags' is similar to 'washers' horse shoes but you're throwing bean backs at a box with a hole cut in it.

Tim this is really going to happen? Remember you talking about it a couple weeks back.

Haber is the man then. Can't imagine slipping that one past upper management.

Mr. D: "Haber!!! What's this jello shot thing on your list?"
Haber: "Mr. D, jello shots is just an offshoot from bags, one of those games that college kids do".
Mr. D: "Oh alright, sounds like fun, I'll sign off on this thing just this once. I'm keeping my eye on you Haber".

I'm jealous I won't be there.

i see a lot of people playing it pre-game for Redskins games. It's like a small skate/launch ramp with a hole in it and the bean bags you used to play with in montessori school

and whats wrong with "hey can i get a soda?" I went to school in WV and i would get into some long debates on the whole soda/pop thing

It's called "cornhole" in Kentucky, walk around the Kee parking lot during the meet and you'll see a million people playing it.

College Day is a great idea, by the way- cheap booze is a way to a student's heart :D

yeah i don't think even Haber would be able to get approval for any game called "cornhole" at AP.

MisterB 07-10-2007 12:52 PM

Great idea, lets get the whole place drunk like pigs, and start a rumble too:)

Haber,

I hope you get ti to work, and I think you're on the right track by offering discounted prices on everything. Canterbury has "buck night" on Thursday, where everything except beer (beer is still discounted) is only $1. Admission, hot dogs, pop, programs, etc. It realy attracts a "young" crowd on that night. Sittin out in the grandstand for eye-candy alone is almost worth it lol. So yeah, I think you're going in the right direction for the way to get students here, but YOU STILL NEED PROMOTION!!!!

GPK 07-10-2007 02:55 PM

Drunk college kids = TONS OF DEAD $$$ in the wagering pools.

sounds good to me

also...I am as southern as they come...and I have never used the word "pop" in my life to describe coke.

Scav 07-10-2007 03:28 PM

It is f'n POP!!

ALostTexan 07-10-2007 04:23 PM

I am really, really glad that I had a chance to see M.H. a few years ago on the Dave Attell/Lewis Black tour. Mitch was probably the funniest guy on the night.

RIP Mitch Hedberg...

"Bags"? Wow, and I thought I'd seen it all when I watched a group of people play "Bunghole Golf." It's when you put a quarter between your upper legs,
and try to drop it into a shot glass. It's funnier than hell to watch. And yes, people do have their clothes on.
