It is strange, especially after looking the PP's for this race. It is completely void of speed.

Didn't Pletcher use a rabbit for English Channel last year on the belief that he didn't like being on the lead? Perhaps they thought a rabbit would help EC just as much as BTN.

Scav 07-05-2007 03:13 PM

I actually this GPK's dumbass horse is going to win the Million this year, barring any nut euro coming over

They tried a couple times last year...and the first time they tried it Luzzi insured blazing fast fractions of :51 and 1:16:rolleyes:

I guess maybe he could be considered to have some "speed". He will most likely be the one on the front end anyways.

Yeah, I backed some Euro in that race thinking there would be some pace with the rabbit and instead he wound up losing to EC and a couple of girls.

Snipe...after watching all of EC's races about 500 times:o , two things he doesnt like:

1. Racing on the lead
2. Racing covered up

GPK 07-05-2007 03:18 PM

I hate the Cacique is retired...I coulda won another easy $100 from Randall:D

After this and the JCGC incident w/ Chantel I think Pletcher needs to go back to Rabbit 101.

I would have to look at the form. Alot of handicappers don't consider weight when the dope out a race, but I am of the old school that thinks a race over 1 1/8 and over 121lbs that each pound over 121 that you give will cost you @ lenght.

Not hatin, it looks like Johnny finally figured it out to put this friggin horse RIGHT behind someone and he will settle, should him light and he wants to go.

That being said, I think Honey Ryder is going to win the Beverly D, and I like English Channel this year, but I am not off that, no idea who I like now

Its clear he runs BEST when just off the lead to the outside. He has always been rank early in his races, but today more so than usual.

Clearly not that great of a field today, but you can only race against who shows up. Glad to see him add another Grade 1 to the resume'.

11 wins from 20 starts with in excess of $3.2 million in earnings.

No, he just needs to be RIGHT behind a horse, no daylight for him, not off a horse's flank, he needs to be right behind and then in the stretch find a hole, he could be inside too....

A small field but BTN and Honey Ryder are no slouches. I'm just happy that we got to see him at a 5YO, does anyone honestly think if he were a dirt horse he'd still be around???

I agree with you, he ran what I thought was his best career race this way- last year in the Joe Hirsch.
