Best/favorite TV couple?

OK, over 70 responses to favorite villain, seems like a fun topic that lots of folks had an opinion about so....who is your favorite TV couple? Now, I mean characters...not George and Gracie Burns for example (although Lucy and Ricky Richardo would count as they played themselves as roles). This can be anyone from David Addison (Bruce Willis) & Maddie Hayes (Cybill Shepherd) from Moonlighting to Minnie & Mickey Mouse. I'm curious...who are your favorites?

Zaf 06-27-2007 11:06 PM

Ralph & Alice Kramden :D

I would have to rate Oscar Madison and Felix Unger as one of the favorite tv PAIR since we know they were not a couple, despite being known as the Odd Couple.

I'd call them a couple...besides, there are those who think that perhaps today, they might be presented slightly differently. In any event, a good choice.

"Mark and Ellen Craig"

Married in real life, William Daniels and Bonnie Bartlett's portrayals of Dr. and Mrs. Mark (Ellen) Craig on 'St. Elsewhere' were achingly poignant, funny and 'real'...

The agony involved upon the scripted death of their son Stephen, and effect on their marriage on the show, was as gripping as anything I've ever seen on TV. Both won Emmy's for their work on what I believe, along with "Homicide", was the best show ever on TV.

Good pick...I only saw the show a few times but enjoyed it...Homicide is in my top 20, another show ahead of it's time.

St. Elsewhere was indeed a TV treasure, I must have known but now had forgotten that the Craig's were real life partners.

Another one from that time period that I thought was terrific was Hill Street Blues. I see that Mermaid has nominated Daniel J Travanti and Veronica Hamel for favorite couple, and deservedly so.
Like the sargeant would say every morning "let's be careful out there."
