Hollywood Pick 6 5/28/07

I guess this could be the thread to talk about the $1mm pick 6 today. The pick 6 starts in race 5. In race 9 Citronade looks like the most logical single in the pick 6 sequence. She has only loss once on the turf, controlling speed and should be able to take this field wire to wire. The 6th and 8th races are impossible. But this what we (5 people investing $288 each) have.

Leg A - 4-5-6-8-9
Leg B - 1-3-9-11
Leg C - 3-6-7
Leg D - 1-4-12
Leg E - 4
Leg F - 3-10-11-12

Coach Pants 05-28-2007 01:55 PM

Good luck to you guys.

I'm still deciding if I should cap it or not.

It was more so his excitement for the game. He loves horses like that, 9 years old and still a monster.....

hoovesupsideyourhead 05-28-2007 06:49 PM

da tin man is the shizzle...and steves fav west coast charge get funky ran huge ..:D

Coach Pants 05-28-2007 06:51 PM

How could you not get excited over a 9 year old warrior? He's the Kareem Abdul-Jabbar of horse racing.

Probably a lot, and good for him.

Not often you can get $9 to win on a horse that has won two Gr 2's and two Gr 1's, including the Arlington Million, in his last five races (the only miss was a 2nd in a Gr 1 in Dubai).

Very impressive old war horse.

Yes, i agree. I actually like his calls alot. I might be in the minority here, but I was disappointed to see Collmus replace him @ Gulfstream.

I remember his days at Hialeah.. in 1993, calling a race with a horse named "Altmagraenaraguda", after two vain attempts at pronouncing the horse's name, he surrendered during the stretch run: "Here comes the number 4."

also he called a race during an earthquake in cali... you can listen to it here..
http://www.donchavez.com/vic.WAV

famous lines.. "we have a new leader" , "is straight and strong" are sometimes tiresome though

Scav 05-28-2007 07:06 PM

I am 'internet' friends with him, he is a great guy.

I was also pissed about him getting pulled from Gulfstream, a raw deal.....

He recieved notice of his termination by e-mail. Real classy move by Magna.

Vic is, imho, heads and shoulders above Collmus as an announcer.

Well when Sylvester the cat has a horse ready...he has a horse ready. Sufferin' Succotash!!

Ok I absolutely love Price Tag in this race. Going heavy on the win and a nifty double with the 5,8,10,12.

Let's make it happen!!

MaTH716 05-28-2007 07:46 PM

Sorry guys, I thought you had it at the top of the stretch.

Damn. Clement's mule sure didn't do us any favors.

But you've got to hand it to Citronnade, that was a blazing time.

That is what happens when Clemente gets a horse, she ran like crap today.....

I don't think Vacare's handy defeat today had to do with Clement's training job but more that she is probably a nifty GII/GIII type horse. The Magna Distaff became the ultimate negative key race as numerous horses out of it came back to tank. Vacare was also up against the pace scenario today but had no punch when push came to shove. If they keep her out there for the CashCall Mile, as the owner did not deny their potential interest in doing that, you may see a different horse, but undoubtedly the queen of the turf on the West Coast right now is Citronnade.

I'm not going to begrudge Citronnade for always catching paceless races. She was nearly confronted by a very nice horse today and still dug in and held her off.

I'm still high on Price Tag. Frankel should send her to Toga so I can hammer down on her proper like.

Completely agree...the first thing I thought after the race was that the Diana would be a terrific spot for her.
