Scav's Ticket of the Day
Yes, I am getting cocky :)
Belmont 7: 5,6 8: 8 9: 11 Ticket is a $2 ticket total. WITHIN everyone's budget. Could get $12 back on that $1.... I don't see anyone that will run with Weigelia(although I worry about his last race being so huge TG wise), the 1 scare me a little, if you want 7: 5,6 8: 1,8 9: 11 Maybe play the 8 in the middle leg for 80% of your risk and the 1 for 20% of your risk |
Scavs- I think Weigelia is a little bit of a horse for the course at Calder. . . I'd definitely expect him to regress off his last race- don't know how much and don't have PPs for today but just something I've noticed. .. Good luck and keep making that paper. . .

Looks like should just pound the late double $150 DD 8/11 and get 3-1. PSH |
we are on our way ....
|
Nice call in the Jaipur Hooves.
|
Nice work there in the 8th Hooves!
24-1. Giant killer strikes again!!! |
Great call, hooves.
|
Hooves - Very nice call in 8th. Hope you scored on it.
|
Hooves buddy you are the man....$50 winner at Belmont on top......Nice Job again....and again.....and again!!!

well we tore that ass up today ill check results in the am but ..i think we did ok.......
|
Nice job, hooves. . . +$166.60 if my math is right
|
Guys
Hooves picked the 8 @ Belmont in the 8th race - Weigelia - the horse that won 11 (Ecclesiastic) broke from the 8 hole.
So he had no $50 winner. |
I think Matt was saying that his exacta box would include the 8 if he drew in my friend. The 11 is clearly on top as his first selection for the race.....
52 points HOOVES!!!!! |

I don't see Weigelia in Hooves top three. Quote:
Nice going again Matt. |
But ya gotta love a guy who makes his first post an argument.......lol.
Welcome.... |
jvendetti should eat crow!

Re-read posts above... and I believe an apology from you is in order to Hooves. He had Ecclesiastic as top choice. Hey, jv, do you have $50 horse for us today? |
Quote:
This may be the single greatest first post in internet history. Jealous anyone? |
Yes, I am.
His phrase, "the horse that won 11 (Ecclesiastic) broke from the 8 hole," is beyond my comprehension and, most likely, beyond anybody's. |
If you are playing perfectas boxes with his plays, what did you win ?? He didnt hit a thing. Am I misssing something here ?

We were applauding him for having a $50 horse as his top selection. How anybody bet the races was up to them. Matt said it was "exacta day", he may have been playing around or he may have been betting them, it really doesn't matter. He had the horse on top, it paid $50, that's good handicapping in anybody's book. |
It sort of goes beyond that.....Matt posted his picks. He never said " I'm a genius....I am betting x phony internet dollars on them.....I love them all....blah blah blah. " He also never came back and patted himself on the back. A few people noticed he made one terrific pick and congratulated him. But, of course, a couple jerks had to suggest God knows what for God knows what reason. It's just the typical crap that goes on in message boards that basically discourages people from sharing information. Pathetic losers who can't stand to see anyone even possibly winning a bet.
But, look at it this way Bigs, it's basically just a backlash from how pissed off they are that you and Scavs made a score earlier this week. There has to be some consolation in knowing that. |

If you had to give advice on how to bet 3 selections or 4 selections how would you tell them to bet them ? I think by throwing out there that many plays you confuse the common bettor.
|
he has stated over and over again that they are simply a guide for everyone outlining the horses he likes in any given race....no one (even Matt) suggests that they are to be used as some type of rosetta stone.
|
can we move on to Monday's races? :)
|
Keep doing it Matt. I'm sure myself and many others consult your picks with our own weekend handicapping.
I appreciate when you and Steve (and the many others) post their picks. Maybe someday I'll get the internet courage to do so. |

I'm pretty light on Belmont opinions today.

You missed the point. If a new person comes to the board and see's these plays, what advice would you give him on how to bet those plays ? Its just a common question a new person might ask if he or she was to read them posts. To me,I use my own judgement on what others play.:D |
Quote:
to see a person who puts out plays check out what gus/bogey does...he lays out plays with his opinion. |
Quote:
Thank you,but you dont have to teach me anything on the subject, been doing this a long time, maybe longer then you.I was just looking at it as a stand point of a new member reading the post. |
Quote:
i'm not a handicapper nor have I ever claimed to be....and quite frankly new member or not/skilled handicapper or not--anyone who joins an internet message board and just blindly bets whatever opinions are posted about races deserves whatever outcome they get... |

1. If the man is gracious enough to share his thoughts on a race, that's enough, period. If it sparks any well meant and modulated debate/discussion, that's even better. 2. If you want to turn his thoughts into betting "advice," take the longest price of whatever horses he lists for a race and bet it to win. 3. It's a great thing that serious horseplayers are sharing ideas and races they like. The worst thing that happens is that someone gives an extra measure of thought to a horse they did not initially like. At it's best, some very good things can -- and do -- happen here. 4. If you are suggesting anyone here is claiming a novice horseplayer can make long term returns off of anyone's listed selections made a day before a race is run, you are wrong and that is what you are suggesting. 5. If a novice player, or anyone, is able to learn how another person saw merit in a long priced horse they had dismissed and learned in the process, that's what I think most of us are hoping for and the reason why we enjoy this group. You want more advice? Contact my advisor, at www.mysticzelda.com. good luck. |
Wow,that was good.I think they should post this up front before anyone enters the forum.Very well done and put.:D
|
i personally am grateful for the selections please please dont let some critics stop you again thanks for late double at churchillon sat.
