Good Luck to you too!

eurobounce 06-27-2006 12:20 PM

Thanks all. Good luck to you DTS. By the way, I love the name Big Daddy Ray. Do you ever go to Jockey Club Registry to browse the names of horses?

tap 06-27-2006 12:22 PM

Good luck to both.

Downthestretch55 06-27-2006 12:24 PM

Thanks for the good wishes.
Yes, I browse the names. Always a challenge to come up with a good one, though I didn't name Big Daddy Ray. Two that I named are Shot o' Bourbon and Darlin' by Day. Both yearling fillies.

Good luck to both of you with your horses! :D

Sharon is my parner on BDR. She owns Harper Hill Farm, Harpersfield, NY, where I have some of my horses. She's a very capable horse woman and pretty well known on some back stretches, as she takes horses in need of layups to live for a while at her farm so she can help them recover.

I havent had a chance to name one--but the name Skeleton is available and that is what I would name a horse.

That sounds like a good one, especially if it's a chestnut...
Red Skeleton...one of my favorite "clowns" of all time.

IrishofNDMan 06-27-2006 01:39 PM

Horse Name....

I want to name a horse TumbleWeed, me and one of my buddies were joking that that's what we would name a horse if we got one, and I actually like it.

I would want the horse to be black. I would out black blinkers on him. The jock would wear all black with cross bones on the back.

Now I get the picture. Good luck with that.

HA HA - I guess I could name the stable--Cross Bones Stable.

Gander 06-27-2006 02:20 PM

I still want to know who this Kycher is. Anyone who can get Oracle in a fizzy has to be ok--just kidding ya.

Gander 06-27-2006 02:28 PM

Kycher is a guy from the ESPN board whos job was to massage high school girls before big sporting events. He loved to share intimate details of his sex life with the board too. I think he lived in Ohio, close to Kentucky and he worshipped Kentucky racing and hated NYers.
Oracle drove him away from there and he was never to be heard from again.

Oh, good grief.

Buffymommy 06-27-2006 02:34 PM

Drama, drama drama. And ya'll accuse me of starting the drama around here?

That is enough fighting. We are all having nice conversations today. Please don't start that drama stuff.

Buffymommy 06-27-2006 02:35 PM

By the way Euro,

I always wanted to have my own stables "Lucky Pointe Stables". Black silks with red letters on the back "LPS". I am a goober I know.

That sounds sweet Buffy. Black is my favorite color. Red is my wife's favorite color. I think they look good together.

Right now it looks like I will be able to make the race. But people tend to call in sick on Fridays and I have to cover. I think I should make payday on Sunday--ha ha.

whorstman 06-27-2006 02:45 PM

I would like to have a horse out of Storm Cat and call him Kentuckyrain

Lucky to bring luck to my horses, and Pointe because it was part of the name of the barn I first learned to ride at. Point with an E on the end. Call me a goober but when I was sixteen my mom had a jacket made for me black with red writing. LPS across the back with an embroidered race horse, and a little trotting foal on the front. I wore it all the time!

Well, anything Cat related, I guess I messed up the terminology, huh?:o

Gander 06-27-2006 02:53 PM

People use the word "Cat" way too frequently when naming a horse. Creativity is a lost art I guess. I get the whole Storm Cat being a great sire thing but lets think outside the box a bit :D

I like the Phipps silks, black and red.
Mine are royal blue, white chevron (V), and three hoops on the sleeves.

Yeah, I may have to work later than I thought so I can be off Monday. But good luck Friday, and it sure don't hurt havin J Lep in the reigns.

It is amazing what Lep can do on a horse. This horse has improved about 6-8 lengths since we switched to Lep. Yeah, we are closed Sunday Monday and Tuesday so we are going to be SWAMPED this weekend.

They sound very nice DTS. I like Royal blue as a color. I also LOVE hunter green, but I have always invisioned my silks as Black with red writing.

Why the "V" and three hoops, if ya don't mind me asking?

V is the first letter of my last name.
Three hoops...no real reason other than one hoop and two hoops had already been taken.

Well being a huge Kentucky Wilcats fan, I would go with something like that or actually maybe or something with Bigblue or something.

eurobounce 06-27-2006 03:02 PM

My next horse if she was a filly would be

Sweetpotatoepi

Exceller 06-27-2006 03:03 PM

I really like the Phantom House Farm silks. The name too. :)
