Who Cashed Big Today?

Just curious. Tell me someone had a signer or two. The only ticket I cashed was the Players Pool Pick 6 I deposited into.

A REALLY BAD DAY at the windows, lost every wager but that deposit

Come on gang, tell us

Suck Day...cashed A 42.00 Super And Lost My Ass!

Suffolk Shippers 05-05-2007 11:31 PM

Cashed on the Derby tri and $50 to win on Steet Sense...nice to get off the schnide I've been on in 2007

packerbacker7964 05-06-2007 12:46 AM

I won a grand on the Hoya/mayweather fight does that count?

RollerDoc 05-06-2007 01:56 AM

Played one $100.00 bet.......#7 in the 10th at Churchill. When I cashed in, the guy at the window said, "very nice."

As a robbery it does...

phystech 05-06-2007 07:45 AM

I cashed 6 of the first 9 exactas on the card and was still down about $30 because I couldn't hit a tri.

Did the same thing I always do in the Derby - I bet scared. I always play way too many tri's and bet horses that I'm scared to leave out instead of focusing on the ones I think have the best shot. No way I'm going to let Edgar, Dominguez, or Desormeaux beat me out of a tri since they are/were MD jocks. And because I played their horses, even though I didn't think they had a shot, it cut into the profits that Mario running second brought me.

ddthetide 05-06-2007 08:07 AM

i cashed the 6th race ex on Oaks day and the ex on the Oaks. cashed the ex in the 6th race Derby day, p-s on Brilliant in the 9th. finished both days down $10. not to bad.:o

whodey17 05-06-2007 08:15 AM

I hit the pick 3 for about $450 dollars on races 8-9-10. I also cashed on the 5ht race. But I wagered $1025 and only got back half of that. Over Oaks and Derby day I lost $324.00. If it wasnt for Oaks day I would have got creemed. But I did very Ok if you count Thursday. If you do that, I am up around $1400.

If this thread had been titled "who ALMOST cashed big today", then I would have much to write:mad: Three out of 4 on every pick 4, 2 out of 3 on every pick 3.. thousands of dollars slipped through my fingers.

You're not alone :D

Story of my day.

skippy3481 05-06-2007 08:57 AM

i hit the derby-oaks double 10 times and the tri twice. Still only ended up 300 or 400 hundred. Was a long day...

Pointg5 05-06-2007 09:02 AM

Had an okay day, hit the 1st pik4, busted on the 1st leg of the pik 6, in the Woodford had 1, 7, 4 in the positions of the trifecta, hard beat there. We hit the pik4 up to the Derby, we played some combos and were busted out on all except one up to the Derby, we had SS singled and I wasn't confident having to rely on a single in the Derby, but it worked out. We have to thank Steve Crist for this, his exotic betting book has made a huge difference in our handicapping. Ranking the horses A, B, C, and X is huge, then we rank the races A, B,C and X and play accordingly.

Had the exacta "cold"...first time in 22 years playing the Derby. That was "big" for me!

Brilliant losing the photo int the 9th cost me around 12k; mostly in p4's. made 2k on the day however. both big licks with borel up.

ShadowRoll 05-06-2007 09:48 AM

Lost all my tri bets, just about broke even with an exacta saver bet. Ironically, I came up with a small, last-minute bet (a $1 tri wheel for $18 total) for a family member and placed it at his request, and did not make a similar bet for myself. It hit for $220.

The Bid 05-06-2007 09:54 AM

I hit a 10 dollar tri at Belmont that paid 5000 after I gave my girlfriend the 680girlfriend tax. Distant View was the broodmare sire and the horse had never turfed, plus he carried all the pace. Put the 7 and 10 in second, and 5 horses in third. It ran 5 10 3.

Had 200 to win on James Graham at Arlington on a Biancone piece he absolutely butchered to lose by a neck at double digit odds. The ride was almost a TV jerker. Thats when I tear the TV off the front off wherever Im sitting.

Had 400 to win on the horse 7 Andy liked in NY, Rajiv fell off about hundred yards from the wire. Couldnt show any emotion because the girlfriend was there again. I had to take a walk and get some water.

I had a real big bet Derby Eve on Uncle Walter at Mountaineer and Rex Stokes should be in jail for the ride he gave me.

All in all Im up about 4k on the weekend, but it could have been a very solid weekend without the bad luck.

2MinsToPost 05-06-2007 10:12 AM

Well, I just found out that for every $10 put into the PICK 6 Players Pool it returned $82 - so, I actually made some money this weekend.

The Bid 05-06-2007 10:17 AM

Ive never really liked Rajiv and hes given me a number of poor rides. While watching the replay 2 or 3 times I was hoping he didnt get trampled, but that one of the trailers would step on his ankle. Just break his ankle, dont hurt him seriously. The horse did duck, but Ive seen guys stay on much worse.

skippy3481 05-06-2007 10:17 AM

Congrats curt, a winner is always good, no matter how big or small.

The Bid 05-06-2007 10:19 AM

Oh Hoss, you are talking about the Graham ride. Pathetic, no other word for it. He broke in the horses mouth, snatched him up, lost 4, swings out 7 wide in an 8 horse field and gets beat a nose.

The Bid 05-06-2007 10:23 AM

It was a little before Derby. I just remember taking a deep breath and going for a walk. Very ugly ride

The Bid 05-06-2007 10:26 AM

Cardus, read the put over thread. Nice mark

We needed to get together... I had $57 Brickell, but lost the late pick 4 when Bravo couldn't get his nose up with the Confidenceman:mad: That really Sucked!

byalip 05-06-2007 11:03 AM

Lesson Learned:

It really pains me to read about the handful that cashed the Derby tri....and didn't invest a mere $17 to play /ALL underneath for the super.

PSH 05-06-2007 11:09 AM

Had Oaks/Derby Double

Not saying much given the two faves.
For once, the horses with the fastest speed figs each won.
Street Sense had the fastest thorograph number and Rags appears to be a monster.....

Wont brag given the two faves but did collect.

Pedigree Ann 05-06-2007 11:51 AM

Had $5 across the board on Hard Spun, so collected there, lost a $9 Pick 3 when singled Pussycat Doll couldn't get up. For a $2 bettor like me, this is big money, breath of relief that I was actually up $20 on the day.

I am much a chicken bettor.

hoovesupsideyourhead 05-06-2007 11:58 AM

my play was the super in the derby .....thats it and the guid hurt me ..any other horse gets 4th and i hit..oh well.........

Samarta 05-06-2007 01:24 PM

I talked to my buddy Kev about noon or so cuz a friend of ours told me that he thought Great Hunter would win, so I decided to tell him that someone else was on the GH wagon....I also told him I thought it was a 2 horse race between SS and HS and I was finishing up with my community yard sale and using my take to go to the otb....I only made one play but it was my gut play and I done good....:)

Hey Me too, me too!! After turning my brain to mush, I said screw it and just put my whole Derby fund on Street on the nose!! Biggest single bet I ever made. I didnt even put that much on Pleasantly Perfect when he won the BC!

knickslions2 05-07-2007 08:07 AM

Only bet the derby this year due to lack of time.....Cashed $50 win on SS and had a 10 box exacta ss and hard spun....All in cashed in $800 on bets of $90.

2 Dollar Bill 05-07-2007 09:35 AM

Does the First time starter in the 4th race @ belmont on saturday count ?
$135.00 to win.. and the super paid... $76,000 + ? Or is this a Derby only thread ?

Rudeboyelvis 05-07-2007 09:43 AM

Xpressbet - Thanks for nothing....Literally

got blown out of the P6 early, nothing new :D

But then had Xpressbet issues with tickets getting placed - received confirmation...3 tickets specifically.... that I had written down as they were for guests.... (of course didn't write down the trans# as I was betting for 3 people, trying to get everyone in)...

1. a $2 win on 7 longshots (loser),

2. a $10 WPS on Hard spun (winner)

3. and a $1 tri box with HS, Curlin, SS, AGS and NoBiz(winner).....As of this morning, they still have not shown up in my wagers....

So about 300 bucks worth of winnings in tickets that never materialized.

Certainly not the end of the world, but put a sour taste in the mouths of the casual fans that ordinarily would not bet on line and probably won't ever again, now.

Thanks Xpressbet, you've not only screwed me, but have convinced 3 fans of the the game, that may very well become regulars at some point, to stay away from online betting.

borntoride 05-07-2007 11:24 AM

not bad

I had 100WPS on Hard Spun, $2 and $5 exacta, and $1 tri. Cashed $1400+ in Derby. I did not have Sky Conqueror in the PK3 and PK4, that's what cost me the most. A great race and a good day at the cyber-windows.
