Need Help Naming Fillies

Hello Fellow Derby Trailers,

Owner Dave Wheilhan asked me to find names for both of his new fillies. Unfortunately there's not much time left. I have to submit the names by this Tuesday.

Please help me if you can. You don't necessarily have to use the breeding in your name choice. Any beautiful name will do. LOL

Photos of each are attached to this post. (I hope)

Please reply to my personal email = kp@gate.net

Filly one:

Chestnut Filly:
Sire = "Two Punch" (Mr. Prospector)
Dam = "Intend To Win" (Housebuster)

Filly two:

Chestnut Filly:
Sire = "Exploit" (Storm Cat)
Dam = "Eastside Ballad" (Saint Ballado)

Thanks in advance for any help.

Peter..

For the Two Punch...

ROUNDHAUS.. (or Roundhouse, though there was a 1968 Roundhouse).

Has implication of a type of "punch" and the reference to Housebuster!

For the Exploit..

BALLAVANTAGE..

Both appear available..

XIIPointStables 04-28-2007 07:21 AM

I like Ms. Knockout myself!

dellinger63 04-28-2007 07:43 AM

For number 1 Bustingout tribute to Housebuster
Number2 Sainted Cat

Like Steve's these appear available.

Bigsmc 04-28-2007 07:52 AM

Punchbuster or Punch to Win
&
Eastside Cat

Cajungator26 04-28-2007 08:15 AM

For the Two Punch filly: Buste de Ciel

For the Exploit filly: Crimson East

Filly one: Two Minute Drive - thinking of those great John Elway drives

Filly two: Industrial Revolution - "the hard worker" from the "turn of the century"???

Let's us know what names are chosen. :)

otisotisotis 04-28-2007 08:26 AM

No Punch Intended
Stormy Serenade
I really miss my thesaurus when I'm at work.

Danzig 04-28-2007 09:06 AM

for the first (and i do like roundhouse btw)--strike two, full count, full house, winning hand.

for the second--epic poem, allegory, eastern saga

Riot 04-28-2007 09:16 AM

Exploit - Eastside Ballad is a Saga Serenade

Two Punch (Mr. P - Heavenly Cause) - Intend to Win is a Knockout or a Celestial Sweep

Run2Win 04-28-2007 09:22 AM

Geez.. this is great.:)

Keepthe names comming,,
I have until Tuesday to submit the list and I am carefully recording these names in a database. and OF COURSE I'll let everyone know what name(s) the owner decided on. (BTW He's one of the former owners of "Premium Tap" before they sold him to King WhatsHisName from Saudi Arabia.

I really like "down goes Fraiser" and punchin' to win. I also like Exploited Saint. Although they may not fly with some.

Payson Dave 04-28-2007 11:56 AM

Filly #1 - Two Timing Lass or maybe Punch Drunk Madame
Filly # 2 - Stormy Redhead or maybe Sinful Feline

Have not made it over to Payson for a while now...But when I get down to my place in Hobe Sound, I usually spend mornings at Payson.

Riot 04-28-2007 12:01 PM

ThistimeImeanit or Two Timing Lass - oooh, I like those:)

letswastemoney 04-28-2007 12:16 PM

Do something original. I don't see why we always base the name off of the family.

FGFan 04-28-2007 01:05 PM

Personally I like going off the pedigree...
how bout
filly 1 Punch Intended, but I also like many of the others,
filly 2..BalladoftheCat, (although that seems familiar but I can't find the name anywhere), or SongoftheCat but I like Sainted Cat too that someone else said.
That's sooooo cool to help name a horse, hope you let us know the eventual outcome of the names

AeWingnut 04-28-2007 01:09 PM

I like some of the others better
this will give you perspective

i told my daughter about this naming thread, told her maybe 'bouncy pair' for the one--then we both cracked up. she said they probably wouldn't approve--i dare say she's right!!

how about she's a knockout for the two punch? probably better than two knockers.

Cajungator26 04-28-2007 01:56 PM

Here are a few more:

For the Two Punch: Melee Intent (Melee means a noisy riotous fight, and 'intent' would come from her dam's side), Moral Zest or Two Is Better.

For the Exploit: Impresa (Italian for Exploit), Fille Rose or Rises In the East.

That's a good one... I'd put it as Makeitduenorth or something silly... haha. This is fun. I'd have a heck of a good time naming racehorses if I ever had the money to own a few. :(

i think it'd be easier naming the exploit/eastern ballad than the other--so many ways to go with it... get out the thesaurus on that for sure. i told my daughter maybe something with minaret or temple, or chant--so many ways to tie in ballad, and maybe an asian influence for eastern. but she liked allegory. have to admit i do too. but i like those one word, to the point names.

So do I... if they were colts, they would have to have 3 syllable names, though. Haha
