Youbet players - warning

This could be nothing but it could be something. Churchill Downs is not on the Youbet racing schedule and I have a feeling it has alot to do with Xpressbet and Twinspires opening up. For those that plan on wagering from home, I suggest possibly firing up an Xpressbet account as a precautionary measure

onebadbeast 04-15-2007 07:45 PM

I Gave Up On Youbet Years Ago .....why Should I Have To Pay To Play!! Expressbet I Play For Freeeee!!!

What do you mean about paying to play? I haven't paid a red cent to play with them in 6 years.....

TVG is where you have to pay 25cents per wager or something

NTamm1215 04-15-2007 09:28 PM

Scav,

I haven't paid a dime either, I don't even think you have to be all that big a player to get comped.

Also, Youbet still lists Churchill as one of its tracks, so I can't imagine they lost it. Down here in Texas Youbet is all we have, so I hope Churchill is still on their slate.

Scav 04-15-2007 09:35 PM

I know, but I guess I am a harden'ed Youbet vetern. It took them 4 years to get back Philly Park, and they STILL don't have Fairgrounds, all because of contractual issues. All these tracks were tracks that they carried the year before, and ended up NOT on the schedule.

I just noticed that Arlington is not on their schedule either, so I could be wrong about this whole thing

AeWingnut 04-15-2007 09:51 PM

Arlington, Hollywood and Churchill are all under the same management so if youBet doesn't have arlington they probably won't have the other two

Howabout BrisBET?

Hollywood is no longer under the Churchill umbrella

Exactly, something is up at Youbet...

I was going to sign up an account there, but they only offer first 60 days free and then a monthly fee afterwards.

I think if you are wagering at a certain level they waive the fee...but I'm not sure on it...

Do you have to wager alot though? I don't play every weekend and will be spending all of the summer in Saratoga so didn't know if it would be worth it.

Scav 04-16-2007 10:28 AM

like $300 a month, I have so many months added up mine won't expire until I die

Stonegossard, even with it on there, and them supposedly being the offical wagering platform of the Kentucky Derby, trust me, with them not being on the schedule, there is cause for concern. Same situation happened about two years ago with Gulfstream/Santa Anita/ Magna tracks

I hear ya. I thought having them on their list meant CD was on their schedule. It would be absolutely insane for them not to take CD. I dont bet through youbet anymore...but would be shocked if they didnt take CD.

I would be to, but it wouldn't surprise me. I am guessing negiotations are going on now and will get taken care of by opening day (11 day I think) BUT that is also what was going on with Philly Park (finally back after a 3 year hiatus) and Magna

I personally have a couple different sites, but just wanted others to know about it being a possibility

well yeah, a fair amount. Like scav's, i've got free months from now till the cows come home. And I only just signed up when Andy announced his show deal with YouBet.

I am anxiously waiting for Derby week to watch TVG and see them try not to talk about the derby. Will be hysterical watching blinkers off the day before the derby and have them capping the feature from Sunland. If they dont merge with HRTV by the end of the year, they will most likely not be around in 2008. They won't be missed.

XIIPointStables 04-16-2007 11:04 AM

I sent along an e-mail to Youbet. No response yet.

BUT - another red flag.

When you go to Andy's "Beat the Pro" page, you can click on a Road to Derby Schedule.

Preakness listed.
Belmont listed.
No Kentucky Derby listed.

Yikes. Nothing from CD listed. Not looking good...

Merge city, I wouldn't be surprised to see HRTV to buy them, or a place like Keeneland to tell him, KNOCK IT OFF and starting playing nice

This is even MORE interesting now, great find......I sent an email yesterday and no response, it usually takes about 2 weeks for them to respond to emails.....

I am hoping that HRTV buys em. Then fires most of their on air cast. The only one worth anything on there is Frank Lyons....maybe Simon Bray. While listening to Todd Schrupp yesterday from Keeneland I wanted to put an axe through my tv.

haha, I agree about Lyons, he is one of the few that bring anything to the table.

XIIPointStables 04-16-2007 01:14 PM

Blinkers Off is terrible. The most annoying things isn't the content, but the delay between NY and LA where Matt ends up talking over the DRF guy for half the show.

Sigh, but I keep watching every week.

I solve that by watching something else.

I keep the track feed up on my computer and when it gets to be a minute or so to post, I hit TVG. As soon as they cross the wire, the channel is changed.

OMG! then you are missing out on the valuable PK four plays that they routinely give out. I find those to be a source of great comedy.

That none of them hit. People on here routinely put up $48 plays that hit.

It is the situation where non-horse racing people are making decisions that people that have actually wagered before should be making.

LOL Jim.

What I don't want is people who's handicapping I don't trust, clouding my judgement. It's cloudy enough.

Bigsmc 04-16-2007 01:32 PM

Scavs,
I read somewhere, during the big announcement that Churchill was teaming with HRTV, that YB was not going to have CD and the rest of the Churchill owned tracks were also leaving YB when their contracts expired. This is going to be the last summer of CRC and AP.

I have been trying to find the aritcle and haven't been able to, so take it for what it is, a guy with a shitty short term memory trying to quote something he saw a month ago....

Get on this, ASAP. It is DIRECTLY related to TVG because Youbet purchases from TVG. Looks like it will be RIGHT to twinspires.com for Scav

I've looked for a while now and can't find it. I think it is safe to say they do not have a contract at this time, doesn't mean they can't sign one by April 28.

XIIPointStables 04-16-2007 03:05 PM

I can't believe we can't get a straight answer on this....come on Youbet! Reply to the e-mails already.

Cannon Shell 04-16-2007 03:14 PM

There will soon be a time when CD and Magna tracks will not be available to anyone outside of their network. The industry as usual becomes more fragmented than less as usual.

Scav 04-18-2007 08:50 AM

The eeryness.....

Not to continue to whip Spanish Chesnut in last year's derby.......

BUT we have called YB Member services and got ZERO answers, the girl was most likely new and had NO IDEA what Churchill was.

Also sent an email on Sunday and have yet to hear back from them regarding it.

Never thought I would say this, but even though Pinny was email assistance only, at least they got back to you in like 30 minutes, Youbet can't even get back in 48 hours.

It might be time to unleash Bigrun on Youbet again.

ArlJim78 04-18-2007 08:58 AM

another example of the great customer service that this industry is known for.

XIIPointStables 04-18-2007 09:14 AM

Two e-mails, 72 hours, no response yet. I do all my wagering with them, but this is terrible customer service.

Anyone else hear anything?
