GPK Delivers $6,000 Pick 4

This doesn't deserve to sit inside the daily action thread.. Everyone needs to see the headline... Kev O'Bey.. The Baron of Balmoral.. The Mayor of Maywood.. The Mountain Mogul.. But most of all THE TERROR OF TAMPA BAY, delivered a bargain P4 play ($45) today that brought back more than $6,200!!

It took the better part of the meet for this score, as opposed to last winter's more steady everyday performance, but it demonstrates the payoff in sticking with a meet and getting the experience and knowledge base to STRIKE LIKE THUNDERBALL!!

Congrats to GPK on a brilliant Quad!!

Cajungator26 04-09-2007 06:12 PM

CONGRATS, KEV! You rock, hun!

Phil...I noticed that as well when watching the replay. I was stunned to see that horse go off at 25-1. A good steady set of drills leading to his debut...and was ML 10-1. It was a 25K maiden for pete's sake....not like he had to be a monster to beat that crew.

Lynn Scace continues to send out well trained first timers.

pmacdaddy 04-09-2007 07:09 PM

Nice work!

Storm Cadet 04-09-2007 07:12 PM

Way to go Kev...that sure buys a lot of Titleist now:eek:

JDank34 04-09-2007 07:15 PM

timmgirvan 04-09-2007 07:19 PM

Wow, isn't Scace winning at like 22% down there?? I didn't do the card today but I'm shocked at that price.

I bet you didn't know, my name is Keith O'Brien....

Scavs plays golf?!?!? Yikes. Imagine how quickly he goes on tilt when he goes Tin Cup with your Pro V1X's.

well...Im not sure they call what he does "golf"....

golfer 04-09-2007 07:44 PM

Count me in for some of those KO Titleists! Normally I play whatever ball I find in the woods while searching for the one I just hit in there:)

fjh513 04-09-2007 08:09 PM

You better F'n A believe it. As long as I hit one good drive a round, sink a put and stick a 9 iron I am a happy camper. It is one of those things I enjoy, talk alot of smack to my friends, and enjoy some sun. My friends calls them the KOB's, "Yo, you whacking the KOB's today"....More so because my friends think Kev is gay and after me :) :) I dream of the day where I can shoot an 80, right now right around 90-92 legit

No tilting on the golf course, not like the track where I expect perfect.

Mr. Kev was such a kind soul. I still have most of them. I am not even going to get into what I consider one of the greatest gifts I have ever recieved from someone

pmayjr 04-09-2007 08:27 PM

Kev,
I hate to ask this, but you actually did make that wager right? What I'm gettin at, is you made the prediciton, and you knew how much it would be, but did you actually plunk down the wager to get paid?

If so, congrats! BTW, I told you Stuart Appleby would... oh wait... I'll just shut up now.

Rootdog1 04-09-2007 08:27 PM

Kev....Congrats on the BIGGIE. That is something to be very proud of, and a story to share at the track for years to come.

I will say it again, this board is one fire right now. I learn so much from everyone on the board.....synergy is the word that comes to mind.

Congrats...and turn that $6k into $12k

Kev great work ! Now when you come to NY I can caddie for you and expect a big slide into my hand about the 16th hole or so!!

Rootdog1 04-09-2007 08:35 PM

Ok, Kev...sorry I just read the other thread. So you didnt get the bet down, I feel for you but you are right.....there is still a feeling of accomplishment that you should certainly feel proud of. Sure we play for the reward, but the challenge is what gets the blood pumping. Congrats again.

Pete...unfortunatly, I did not. Was unable to take a lunch break at work today because my help was late in arriving.

Such is life my friend. The sickening feeling in my stomach is not as bad as it was and the positive I can take from this leaves me with renewed hope.
