Pain, Like No Other

Is what I am going thru right now. I have a chipped molar, and it is exposing a nerve. I will be at the dentist tomorrow, thank god. Unreal, this pain, no lie, is so severe. I have been taking 2 bayer asprin every 4 hours, it's that bad and it still does not kill all the pain.

God this hurts. What really sucks is that later today I will not be able to take any bayer since it thins the blood and I am having this tooth pulled. I may pick up a bottle of whiskey, no lie, if I think it will help. I can't believe how much this hurts. I can hardly function at times.

Sorry, just needed to vent.

Gosh, and I thought I was having a bad day when I threw up before work this morning. I'm taking a half day leaving here in about two hours, but i feel infinitely less bad for myself after reading this.

Hope it gets taken care of tomorrow. Whiskey is the short-term fix for everything bad in the world.

Next time you take any bayer, chew it up first. That way it will digest easier and faster and some may get up into that tooth to help it faster.

I hope you feel better.

I hope it passes sooner than Friday for yoursake B. From everything I have heard they are a BEYOTCH!

paisjpq 04-04-2007 10:39 AM

curt...you can also get some of that special dental wax (like they give to kids with braces) and use it to cover your tooth so it is less exposed...I had something similar happen a couple years ago...OUCH...

Grits 04-04-2007 10:53 AM

2Min and Baba, I feel for both of you, deeply.

2Min, why can your dentist not SAVE this molar by sending you to a specialist for a root canal? It may take a $1000 hit to your Visa, yet still you would be saving an important tooth. And if it needs a crown, true, that's bigger bucks.

If you're young, its worth saving though.

I think Pais is right about the dental wax, still Friday is a long way to be in this kind of pain. An abcess of that tooth is the worst pain you could EVER endure, worse than what you're handling right now. Lord help you if that's the case.

Baba, bless you, I've never had a kidney stone! Tell 'em to demolish it with lithotripsy. You're floatin' if you're downing Percocet 2 at a time.

LOL.

Good luck and I mean that.

You may want to consider shaving yourself before you go in.

Unless you want to take your chances on who the barber is that day!

Boooooooing

Well, good luck. But, word to the wise... they don't use clippers.

I remember going in for the snip and some Luther Vandross-looking dude walks toward me with a can or shaving cream and a razor. I told him not to even think that was going to f'in happen. Grabbed that sh1t out of his hands and ran to the bathroom.

Curt...we need to get you some good sh*t...bayer aspirin wouldn't take the pain out of a paper cut.

more in the lines of the 72 hour Duragesic (sp?) pain patch. The most incredible pain free hours I used to have. Highly potent...but total LaLa land..

Man I feel for you.....coming home from the '04 Belmont, I broke a molar in half and let me tell you....it broke in half across the middle of the tooth. The back of the tooth wedged in over top of the front half of the tooth and it exposed the nerves. I couldn't even close my mouth, because my teeth hit the back of that molar sticking up before the rest of my teeth could touch. That Monday I went to the Dentist and he wouldn't touch it. Not even pull it. He sent me to a maxillofacial surgeon and he extracted the tooth. I took vicodin and that didn't even touch the pain. The surgeon gave me oxycodine after he pulled it and I was nice then. But that was 72 hours of the worst pain in my life. The problem is you can't get away from it. Hang in there man, tomorrow is almost here.

HHmmmmm...was that for your back area? Never had one of those...had Demerol a few times when I was in hospital for my leg....but usually the pills helped.....Demerol gives you one hell of a headache for about 1 min....then you're fine......Who says this site isn't informative??:D

packerbacker7964 04-04-2007 06:11 PM

Kev pour some Jim Beam on that tooth and get a Vike it'll go away in a matter of minutes.

Samarta 04-04-2007 06:12 PM

If you can handle morphine it is unbelievable. A lot of people have bad reactions. Fortunately with all my broken bones and surgery's, I've never had a problem tolerating it. First time I took it, the doc said he was about to administer a six hour orgasm....

Yeah...that was when my hips had shifted out of place from the disk going bad. I takes 8 hours for the medicine to reach your blood stream after you apply it...but man...once it gets there...it is heaven on earth:o When I say you feel nothing...

Sam...I had morphine while in ICU after my car decided to take a detour that one night:o Good stuff there too:D

In all seriousness...I pray to God my days of all those pain meds are over.
