UAE Derby

cracking race coming up here..

SundayStar 03-31-2007 08:57 AM

hard to go against asiatic boy here. but i'm picking eu tambem. and i'm curious to see how adil does.

brockguy 03-31-2007 09:01 AM

I love Asiatic but it'll be some test here. Eu Tambem to get Frankie off the mark for me with Traffic Guard loving the step up to 9f!

In the American pools Bartola (Arg) is 25-1 which is an insane price. She should be 8-1, tops.
Asiatic Boy is tough to look past, however.

XIIPointStables 03-31-2007 09:05 AM

This Bartola seems interesting at the 23-1 I'm looking at now, but A. Boy looks tough to beat.

Hickory Hill Hoff 03-31-2007 09:09 AM

Using Folk, the outside horse & the before mentioned Bartola underneath the fav. JACK JUNIOR could be a "bomber" in tri's.

Pedigree Ann 03-31-2007 09:13 AM

Godolphin bought Eu Tambem to keep him out of the World Cup, where he could have spoiled the party for their super-horse. He beat older horses in his Dubai debut and beat better horses in Argentina than Asiatic Boy did.

agree, A Boy is real tough.

But would love for this filly to steal it and shock the world. (and fatten my account)

SundayStar 03-31-2007 09:18 AM

wow

ArlJim78 03-31-2007 09:19 AM

Asiatic Boy in a romp!! / Jack Junior / Adil

ALostTexan 03-31-2007 09:20 AM

No kidding. Wow.

Asiatic Boy was very, very impressive...

TitanSooner 03-31-2007 09:20 AM

wonder what that time was.. wow

Pedigree Ann 03-31-2007 09:20 AM

Bad ride on Eu Tambem - Dettori pushed him into the race too early. Always a fear when a horse changes barns, get a new rider.

So, is Asiatic Boy the new Discreet Cat?

Don't think it mattered though.

brockguy 03-31-2007 09:23 AM

fantastic..our oooohing and aaahing after his last few races were merited. Surprisingly, he may be headed tp Royal Ascot rather than the States!

jdm 03-31-2007 09:24 AM

if you like A Boy his exactas over Folk or Tambien are more with him on top as the odds on fav.

Yes and no...covered him in the place spot, but didn't use him underneath the winner...story of my life!

Danzig 03-31-2007 09:29 AM

asiatic boy won for fun, i was hoping folk would do something here....
day pass should have stayed over here i guess.

docicu3 03-31-2007 09:29 AM

Didn't that trainer run a horse in the Remsen a few year's back that later showed up in the Frankel barn? I forget his name...

Pedigree Ann 03-31-2007 09:30 AM

Anybody still liking Day Pass? Just another good US 2yo whose classic potential has been destroyed by taking him to Dubai. One has to admire the Godolphin determination to do things its way, but at some point, you'd think they'd get a clue; what works for Europe may not work for the US.

XIIPointStables 03-31-2007 09:31 AM

Agreed. This board is doing a nice job with these races.

All aboard Harvard Avenue in the sprint!

I'd go with 'Island in here.

JJP 03-31-2007 09:36 AM

I'll go out on a very small limb: there were no Discreet Cats or Invasors in this year's race. The winner may be a nice horse but he beat an absolute junkpile. The runnerup was an 0 for 2 maiden trying dirt for the first time and the 3rd place horse had been running in the Saudi king's backyard. De Kock is smart not to send Asiatic Boy to Louisville.
