Street Sense this saturday at Tampa Bay
He will finally run this weekend at tampa bay, and i just want to know what everyones opinion on him is, and how you feel he matches up with any given saturday? my opinion is this horse will have a big year and i think he can beat any given saturday this saturday.
|
I'm putting $200,000 on his head cause i'm baaaaaaaaaaaaallin!!
|
I'll take Any Given Saturday simply for the fact that he has a race up on Street Sense.
|
No matter what you may think of Street Sense, I think this is clearly a go against spot. No way is he tightened up for this. I can see him getting a piece under ideal trip conditions, but no way at the price.

i cant see any given saturday being over 6-5, and im thinking 9-5 or 2-1 on street sense, unless there is nothing else at all in the race where in that case you could see any given saturday 3-5 and street sense 6-5

obviously i ment a better value then any given saturday, who do you think the favorite will be ?
|
I wouldn't bet him with your money.
|
I personally would make Any Given Saturday the favorite, but I don't have the power to do so. I think there are a lot of people who will be all over Street Sense, so he will probably be the favorite. I will put a decent win wager on Any Given Saturday and laugh all the way to the bank.

Check the past threads. A majority on here were underwhelmed with AGS's Sam Davis (I'm not one of them, I thought he did exactly what Pletcher wanted him to do). He basically beat an N1X field. There will be no value on the returning BC Juvy winner who won the race by record lengths and the horses that finished behind him have flattered him with their recent results. |
im not even sure if im betting him, but if i do bet the race im betting him and not any given saturday, whens the last time the bc juvenile champ returned to racing and was not favored in that spot ?

nafzger had a real good one before. his best races were the biggest races - the fla derby, ky derby. and bc classic. he didnt win the preps. this is a prep. what was his name?

oh rob, thanks for posting that.
amazing when you look at his preps -- he ran four times in the two months culminating with the derby. unheard of! |
I'm stealing this from another post, but this is what Nafzger said:
Street Sense At the moment the timing is good for the Tampa Bay Derby. That gives us almost four weeks to adjust if necessary. Right now I'm not as interested in where he finishes in his first start back as how he finishes. Although when we get to the Blue Grass [GI, Keeneland, Apr. 14], he's got to be there even if he doesn't win. trainer Carl Nafzger told Daily Racing Form. Personally, I think Street Sense will be the favorite... by way more than he should. |
Not a betting race for me. Don't see any reason why Street Sense won't romp here. Any Given Saturday's last out wasn't that great. A talented horse could come back and beat that.
