in my opinion you have a keen historical perspective for such a young man.

whodey17 03-06-2007 07:10 PM

Chris Antley, Laffit Pincay Jr and Willie Shoemaker

He may be a "has been" rider...but he's no fool! (a twist on a Monty Python line) :D

I'll give you five...in no particular order

Chris McCarron
Garrett Gomez
Pat Day
Edgar Prado
Javier Castellano

5 most underrated jockeys currently (could do just as good as Johnny V. if riding 1st call for Todd P.)

Calvin Borel
Robby Albarado
Jesus Castanon
Eibar Coa
David Flores

Cajungator26 03-06-2007 07:18 PM

Pat Day...

SCUDSBROTHER 03-06-2007 07:18 PM

If you were to give give me 5 specific situations,I think I would give you a "best jockey ever seen" for that situation.Overall,I would say the best jockey I have seen is PVAL.

Danzig 03-06-2007 07:21 PM

oh, and my vote would be for bill shoemaker.

Hickory Hill Hoff 03-06-2007 07:21 PM

Maybe PG1985 can relate to this...

JUST KIDDING!!!

Coach Pants 03-06-2007 07:22 PM

Pat Valenzuela after 3 grams.

rontheman1964 03-06-2007 07:25 PM

Laffit Pincay doesn't make anyone's list??? Eddie D??? I personally liked Gary Stevens and cashed alot of tickets on Victor Espinosa and Alex Solis before they started riding for the bigger name trainers. Robby Albarado is very underrated in my opinion also. Just my thoughts.....

JDank34 03-06-2007 07:25 PM

DaHoss...I agree with you...my point was probably over the top but I really feel JV has been helped much more by TP than vice versa. If JJ had the opportunity to have first call on those horses he would be exactly where JV is now...

deltagulf 03-06-2007 07:27 PM

well laffit pincay jr.
edgar prado
