Hard Spun
Leaving Oaklawn for Ky.....now running in the Lane's End....reason is that he supposedly didn't like the surface at Oaklawn.
|
wonder how he will like the poly?????? something about this move seems strange to me!!! what does everyone else think?

This move is questionable because over the last few years nothing goes into the Lane's End and nothing comes out. It is in a bad place on the calendar because if you still need one more prep then the Derby will be race #3 in six weeks. NT |
Needs some spending money

I really believe that they are trying to save face here..They didnt complain when he had a few nice works over the Oaklawn surface..He lost because he wasnt used to racing other horses with early speed, and obviously didnt like the dirt being kicked up in his mug...As a big fan of this colt, I hope to see him as a miler, not a classic distance horse...there he would be able to use his tactical speed out of the gate.

Hard Spun worked another bullet this morning. Who knows what that means.
|
it means that everyone needs to stop looking so far into this thing and realize maybe he just dident handle the track. i think this horse will be fine

He worked on the poly at Turfway as well. I agree that he should be fine. They need to pick their spots carefully in order to get the requisite earnings.
|
one shouldn't jump on a horse due to one good race, or off due to a bad one. besides, those who jump on are too late--those who bail might live to regret it the next time the horse runs....
|
Hey, I've never been completely off the Hard Spun bandwagon! Who doesn't love Philly?

John, the better question is who does??:D Then again, I loved Smarty, Rockport Harbour, et al. But more of a John Servis fan than anything else. |

What is it with Hard Spun getting crappy posts in Derby preps?

""John and I speak periodically. You know, we're still friends, and you know, we'll probably have horses together again. We have a little hiatus right now. We had some differences. We decided to split up. We very well may be together again at some point." Porter I am glad they are still friends. |

Sports Town had a bullet work the other day in 59.60.
|
Hard Spun has had two bullet works since the Southwest. If he isn't ready for this race, he'll never be ready.

Helen the upset girl. Broken hearted over her lose of Curlin, now she's ready to roll with For you Repo. I am sure she will send out, and make a spot in the 1st turn. Hard spun better not try that crap in his last, Rate, my azz. Better break, and go for that 1st turn, or just gallop out.
Go Helen, I'm routing for ya ![]() |
