Lifetime Past Performances

Is there a website out there that has free lifetime past performances? I'm looking for the pp's for Easy Goer. Thanks in advance to anyone who can help.

Sightseek 03-01-2007 02:09 PM

Did you check Equineline?

WillSmith 03-01-2007 02:18 PM

if you are ever going to spend money on a book, i suggest you buy "Champions, Revised Edition: The Lives, Times, and Past Performances of America's Greatest Thoroghbreds". available at amazon for $33. has lifetime pps of many thoroughbred champions from 1900's to present

if you dont find easy goer's by tonight i'll scan and post it here tonight when i get home

TitanSooner 03-01-2007 02:19 PM

Sightseek,

I just tried, and they want $8 per past performance. I'm not against paying for what I want, but I was curious if a website has this info for free. If not, I will go this route and pay the $8. Thanks for the quick response.

Robfla,

The website you gave me was close enough to what I was looking for. FYI, I was curious to see how Shug McGaughey prepped Easy Goer for his run at the triple crown, and how it compares to his 3 year old Sightseeing.

I'm puzzled as to why Shug is running Sightseeing in another allowance race this Saturday versus a stakes race. After all, Sightseeing already ran second in the one mile grade 3 Nashua stakes. I'm guessing Shug wants to see what he has, and the allowance race will do that since its being run at a mile and 1/8. All of the graded preps this weekend are a mile and 1/16. Thanks again.

Sightseeing is not a very good horse, he is ok at best.. i'd doubt he even makes the derby

I hope they don't run her in the Derby, she'll be nursing a little one at her side.

POINTGIVEN1985 03-01-2007 03:35 PM

POINTGIVEN1985 03-01-2007 03:38 PM

Outside of the people conection and having four legs and a tail, Easy Goer and Sightseeking have very little in common.

You never pick up DRF and see past performances that look like that too much anymore

Hickory Hill Hoff 03-01-2007 07:24 PM

In regards to Robfla's past performance reprint of Easy Goer's race record....to steal a line from Eddie Murphy

NOW THAT'S A (FIRE!) RACEHORSE!

mclem10011 03-01-2007 07:25 PM

Great job Rob......

For posting those Easy Goer pp's, very cool to look at.

WillSmith 03-01-2007 07:42 PM

if you like this one, you need to by the book I referenced above. Hundreds of pages of champions' pp's.

If you would like to see any other particular horses, let me know ill post it.

WillSmith 03-01-2007 07:56 PM

Regarding this, you have to realize that was in the day of non-description......

Pretty impressive, but Sunday Silence obviously had him by the balls

pgardn 03-01-2007 10:28 PM

I love the payout on EasyGoer in The Gotham in 1989... .05

Might as well buy a Treasury bill or put your money in a Savings Account.

POINTGIVEN1985 03-01-2007 11:16 PM

fusaichi pegasus ?

Linny 03-02-2007 05:54 AM

FuPeg was not a champion, he's not in there. He is unworthy! SHUUUUNNNN THE UNWORTHY.;)

For some great reading look at Forego's Fall of '74 campaign. Woodward to Vosburgh to JCGC. That's 12f to 7f to 16f folks and he won them all! Oh yeah, the three were from Sept 28th and Nov 9th. That will never happen again.

Although, in 2000...FuPeg was the first Derby I picked right since Spend a Buck in '85 :p
So he did mean something to me

Agree 100% on "Champions". I look through it all of the time. I love reading history of the game, but for a handicapper to see it in that all too familiar DRF past performances is really a joy.

Easyrider 03-02-2007 10:41 AM

Pointgiven1985,

I screwed up on the 2 turn triple crown preps distances this weekend. I thought the FOY, Robert Lewis, and Batagglia were to be run at a 1 1/16. Thanks for the correction on the FOY distance.

Cannonshell,

Since the connections for Easy Goer and Sightseeing are the same, thats why I was curious if Shug is taking same path this year. I realize Easy Goer was way more accomplished than Sightseeing is today, but I'm just looking for an "under the radar" 3 year old to follow on the road to the Derby. Thats what so fun about this time of the year. If he runs like crap on Saturday, I'll look for another one.

Usually, the chartmaker's comments are pedestrian, but not so for Secretariat's epic performance at Belmont Park. The last sentence of the description is unusual, if not unique, for a race chart.

If a techno savvy DTer has this publication and scanned this chart into this forum, you would understand what I mean. The comments are a neat footnote to the greatest Thoroughbred performance of all time.

Back then I don't know if the DRF had the little abbreviated comment line at the far right of the performance line like they have now. If it was your job to boil down a performance like Secretariats Belmont into a few words to show up in the PP's what would you say? What could you say? "Much the best", "Drew off"? The typical stuff seems woefully inadequate.

I think I'd simply put "UNREAL!"

On Nyra's website for Belmont Park and specifically for the Belmont Stakes they have a PDF you can download with the Charts, among a very detailed history of the Belmont for all of the Belmont Stakes.

Here is a link (hopefully it will work.)
