Idol's Antonella Barba, "provocative" pics on net
 

Well, I thought for awhile and decided to go ahead and post this. Antonella made it through the first cut and has some talent but I suspect has to show a lot more to stay in the contest. She obviously is rather attractive (OK, I have a gift for understatement) and I'm not surprised that pictures have shown up on the net...word is that they were leaked by a boyfriend (hopefully former)...these poor girls never learn...if you don't want it to haunt you, stay dressed in front of the camera! I read the comments and they are about 50-50, half morally outraged and half...well, as one guy said, "I wish that toilet seat was my face" I belong to the second group I guess...first of all, I see nothing wrong with the pictures, she's a 20yo college student for god sakes, and secondly...we see pictures like that on TV nowdays. Anyway, it will be interesting to see if Fox feels compelled to take action and how it will effect the voting...here is the link to a Philly site:

You would think so...she certainly has the looks and especially if these pics become a "big deal" she would be able to cash in...still, it's a shame that it is even newsworthy! What I want to see is how Fox handles the situation.

What situation, she wasn't blowing the president in the oval office. She was being a 19 - 20 something girl. Just hanging with her friends. They should do nothing.

I agree 100%...but it's not me that Fox will be concerned about...it's all those folks calling for the girl's head cause of "family values"! She's being a "normal" college girl...but there are folks who simply won't admit that the world is round!

Damn, looks like she's history...I saw two pics with her giving head, don't know what else is out there but I don't see Fox keeping her now! For what it's worth, I think she should stay but I'll be amazed if she isn't dumped!

I don't watch AI or follow it...but most of those pics resemble the drunken springbreak photo albums of MANY a co-ed...does anyone know if she took these photos or performed the sex acts for distribution/profit? or if they are just that...drunken mistakes

She's not. Not even close. She's been a gimmick since day one trying out with her best friend (who FYI, was a heinous heinous bitch who deserved to get cut right after Bailey Brown got eliminated after the best friend wouldn't help her right before they performed and later told the camera that Bailey was gone and she was still around because, and I quote directly, "God likes good people."), and now she's being exposed for what she is now after the first week's episode.

Not like you to judge so quickly Brian...we don't know the circumstances concerning these pictures, the first batch was pretty tame but these last two with her giving head are probably gonna doom her...still, I think she should be judged based on her musical performance not these pictures.

I didn't judge her on anything but her musical abilities somer -- sorry if it came off like I was. I meant that she was exposed for what she is after week one: awful. The "exposed" pun was just a semantic bonus.

I don't think she and her best friend are good people, which made it ironic, and she is an atrociously terrible singer.

I don't care about things like this, I just think it's funny that it's such a big deal. I'm of course interested because I love Idol, but it's not like this has any bearing on the competition, because she's about 10,000-1 to win it.

Ok, that's more like the Brian I know, I admit that so far she hasn't shown enough musical ability to be a serious contender but sometimes these folks seem to suddenly take a leap forward, I would just like to see her judged on her singing and not her "other oral abilities"....there is already a "vote for Antonella" campaign started at several men's sites but they can never match the power of the conservative vote I'm afraid...anyway, if Fox removes her before the day is out I won't be surprised.

that is what always get to me in these kinds of situations...
When I was that age I was a pretty screwed up person and yet I was always really careful not to do anything that might embarass my family...which means no pictures...I'm not really that much older than her...

This is actually gonna work out perfect in my house....I have a 13 year old daughter that looks like she's 18 and I'm a nervous wreck everytime she leaves the house. The other day we had one of those family uproars because of a picture I found on her cell phone....As these things go, I would like to consider it rated "G", but what kids don't understand is not everyone out there has good intentions. My talk with her was more on the what could happen side and I know kids think parents don't know anything, but now with this hitting the news, maybe it will hit home for her.....Teenage girls are a father's worst nightmare.....

yes they are...and with good reason. Like I said I was a royal phuckup...but since it was so important to me not to disappoint my family or cause them any embarasment I did everything I could to maintain status quo...on the outside anyway...

I do not know how old you are, but they probably didn't have the resources that they have today. Polaroids were the big thing when I was a kid. But the whole world coun't see it with one click. What the hell was the internet. Just scary, girl makes a small mistake and now will be embarrassed for the rest of her life.

30...I had a video camera and still camera...and incidentally carried them with me everywhere at that time since photography was a hobby...I admit it was before the proliferation of info that we have today but it wasn't THAT long ago, late 90's

I am 34 so we are in the same boat. Even if you had a video or a picture back then, think about how many copies of the video or picture you would have had to make to get the exposure that this poor girl got in the matter of hours. Millions of people have seen these pictures now. How many copies would you have to pay for at Fotomat?

I talked about this with my mom because she was incredulous, as was I that people still don't get it.

It's not like it was 10 years ago when you could get away with this stuff. I'm not sure why people haven't caught on to the fact that anything you do can be posted for thousands (or millions) to see in a matter of minutes.

Things are not what they were when my mother was growing up. Heck, things aren't even what they were when I was growing up.
