Tampa Wednesday Pick 4

Holy Crap. Easily the toughest P4 of the year. Tread lightly.

6th Race - Clm 12500 N2L 7f
Looking for someone to step up here. EVERY horse has a legit shot.

2 - Lolly's Red Ink (4-1) Draw a line through the allowance try. Gate to wire threat with the 1 post and Little Allen aboard.
5 - Lo's Gal (6-1) Came home better than any in the race in her last. Given some time off and an okay breeze to stretch her legs after her maiden win. 2nd at 20-1

Race 7 - OC 62k/N$Y 7f

6 - Demagoguery (5-2) Three in a row, moving up each time. Can do again. Won @ 3-1
4 - Prince Alphie (10-1) Surprise package. 2nd off, turf to dirt, turning back to 7f. Should be flying late.
2 - Anglers Reef (9-5) A Demagoguery neck short of three straight wins. Can turn the tables on the top choice. Won @ 9-5
5 - Florida Jack Pot (7-2) Gate to wire threat under Montalvo.

Race 8 - Alw 19200 N1X 1 1/16 Turf

7 - Cheetah's Chrome (7-2) Montalvo moved too quick last out. He won't make the same mistake this time. 2nd @ 6-1 $2 EX paid $155.80
10 - With Affirmation (8-1) Lightly race With Approval filly got things turned around last out in a 50k maiden washed off the turf. Seems to have overcome her physical problems to be able to come right back. Kimmel 28% 2nd off. Chantal sees fit to make the trip north again.
5 - Tuff Muffin (2-1) Obvious class edge. Couldn't seem to get the job done in SoCal. Looking for a softer spot...and found it. 4th @ 4-5
4 - The Lady Waffles (12-1) Three in a row while moving up the ladder. Wavering Monarch filly may be able to step up again on the blades. Won @ 13-1

Race 9 - MSW 18k 6.5f

6 - Contrary (3-1) Proctor 5% with firsters, so the last was a decent effort for this Distorted Humor gelding. Lookee here, Proctor is 26% 2nd out. Proctor/Lezcano clicking at 54% over the last two years. 2nd @ 5-2 $2 EX paid $18
4 - Party Jones (7-2) Darley homebred son of Elusive Quality shows a steady string of Payson works. He has the whole package, breeding, trainer, jock and works. So, why is he not running in Hallandale? Hmmm.
5 - On the Vineyard (2-1) A solid second in his debut. Scace clicking at 27% 2nd out. Does not have to improve much more to take this heat. Won @ 8-5

The $72 play:

6 - 2,5
7 - 2,5,6
8 - 4,5,7,10
9 - 4,5,6

The money should be spread in every race the P4 should pay well. Good luck with this one.

This is the one time I just had to withdrawal ASAP, probably Youbet's fastest withdrawal of all time

Bigsmc 02-21-2007 12:21 PM

Got spooked by the 6th race and played a "saver":

6 - ALL
7 - 2,6 Dead Heat
8 - 5,7,10
9 - 4,6

$96

GL

Bigs, I agree about the 6th, but I think the 8 is a solid horse in that race. speed and fade off the laugh, positive jock change. I look for him to sit the trip and pounce

What's tough about the race is they all basically have the same running style. I tried and tried to figure out who was going to have the lead. They may be 6 across the track vying for the lead. Then throw in the jock factor... That's what spooked me.

The 5 nips them at the wire in a 4 horse photo.....or not...

Scav 02-21-2007 01:14 PM

Did one of my posts get deleted or did I forget to bitch about Cotto's ride on the 4 horse in the 4th race. That horse was loaded for bear at 9/1 and he decided to ride up the ass of a tiring horse.

Not sure if he beats the 1 horse, but gives him a run for his money

Good call on that 5 horse. I lost my pick 4, but caught the EX and TRI with your help. Thanks!

100% correct Bro.

I just didn't think Centeno would move that horse up that much and I am not a McAllister fan.

Thoroughbred Fan 02-21-2007 02:15 PM

Bigs, glad you got the saver in, but atough way to use it. I hope you get a price in a later leg. Good luck!

Nothing worse than hitting the all button only to watch the chalk waltz home...

Problem is, I don't have any real prices on the rest of the ticket. Just hoping to hit it and recoup the bets.

I did play a pick 3 (7th-9th) with the rest of the tabs up top.

Bigsmc 02-21-2007 02:22 PM

Wow. Anglers Reef and Demagoguery are two hard knocking dudes.

That's 4 for Centeno.

Thoroughbred Fan 02-21-2007 02:37 PM

got the ticket twice now atleast:D

SCUDSBROTHER 02-21-2007 02:58 PM

What are my chances of cashing? Have the Proctor/Lezcano to win the p4.If can't get that, have the Proctor/Lezcano in the last(for late p3.)

hailrazer 02-21-2007 03:01 PM

Brisbet doesn't have pick 3 willpays that end in race 9. Anyone know where I can get them?

They didn't put them up because of the Dead Heat in the 7th.

Hope you cashed.

So SWEET.......LIKE BUBBLE GUM SNOWCONE.When you got a nice p3 payoff to just 1 horse, and she simply destroys them.

Just hit it for a buck, but I only bet $70 or $80 the whole day(so it was nice....I am not expecting to do that much at that track........it was just pieces of a puzzle that came together nicely.)I bet the p3 because I was worried the p4 wasn't gunna pay much.A coverbet that took off for me.Was very worried they were gunna get to lookin' at the way Lezcano got to the rail from the 10 hole (so quickly,)but he must have been clear enough...:) .
