Well my opinion is based more on wild love for Invasor than it is on hating Discreet Cat.
I just think he's up against it, having never gone this far -- having to come off a big break. I also think that the stretch at NAS will help Invasor out because he's just a grinding type. I don't doubt that heading into the long stretch, Discreet Cat will be in front of Invasor, but I get the feeling that Invasor will have his number. If Discreet Cat doesn't just keep going and going, Invasor's going to take measure of him around the eighth pole and truck on home.
Of course, Premium Tap is a huge wildcard in here -- he seems to just keep getting better this past year, and I'd envision even him finishing in front of the Cat.
I think Discreet Cat is a spectacular individual to watch, but there are more questions than answers for me in this one. The two good things about him in this race are that 1.) He is obviously very fast, just on pure raw talent, and 2.) He showed the he at least liked the track last year, and Invasor ran the worst race of his life.
So if the track was the reason Invasor ran poorly last time, I could see it happening again. It's hard to know from having only one run over the surface. So, while DC has some intangibles in his favor, I would just side with my boy Invasor in this one until DC proves me wrong.
