Urban Meyer has so much talent perhaps he can coach both OSU and the Browns. Both will win titles. Nick Saban eventually went pro as did Petrino....I'm guessing in about 3 or 4 years Urban will be bored with OSU. Bowling Green, Utah, Florida, OSU....BROWNS!! Urban will save the whole state.

I'd love what you would, but considering the difference in talent/experience coupled with those 2 in a division winner fight---I'll faint if we win one of those games. |

He became infested with sec filth while at Florida. He comes here...that's it for me. Won't be an Ohio State fan anymore.Fickell is the right guy..they don't know it, but he is.They would rather buy another one selling out; thereby selling out themselves. |

With a true freshman at qb, they were competetive with the top 5 in the league beating the best one of the 5 and within a TD of every single one. Freaking Urban is going to reap the rewards of Fickell having to take the lumps with a true freshman who is a tremendous talent. They get 10 starters back on defense too. Urban will get all the credit, but they'd have been just a good with Fickell too I think. He'd have gotten better too. |
It's a crying shame,Horsey.
Buying a pig like Bourban Meyer and thanking Fickel for taking on an impossible situation by saying ,"no thanks". If you read about the guy and saw his pre and post game Michigan press conferences..you would have no doubt.Give Fickel 2 years and the normal power a HC has,he would have done the job and stayed here for years. Hiring a carpet bagging, take my football and go home pig like Bourbon utterly disgusts me.The moment it is official is the moment I lose complete interest in college football;with no interest in Ohio State, then there is no interest. |
I copied this reader comment from The Ozone...responding to the announcement that Bourbon is official. He mirrors my thought perfectly, other than saying he'll " come around."
I won't. Believe me, the other 7 comments to date were quite the opposite. Sickening. If you can't beat 'em, open your checkbook & hire 'em. Ohio State honor & tradition sinks even deeper. The fact that I just saw the most selfish drama-queen in Buckeye Football history... Robert (Dr Bob) Smith applauding the hire, just solidifies my opinion. My Buckeye flag is now flying upside down in distress. I'll come around in time, because I'm loyal... but right now I'm ashamed. |

The rot is complete in college sports and this hire just simply verifies it. Even my beloved Penn State where you thought you at least had a loyal guy, the rot was total as he had the entire administration in a noose and his millions donated to the school for academic purposes was just a show. I knew they cheated as they all do but oh well. Meyer didn't want to rebuild in Florida, he had a good qb when he got there, Leak, then rode Tebow through the rest, then quit. Simple to analyze pretty much. It's easy to rebuild at Bowling Green and Utah, not so easy in the SEC with the other schysters in that conference. Big 10's a lot easier to rise quickly and they will and OSU is a perfect setup right now with Braxton Miller despite sanctions. It's all ridiculous.

Thanks so much. One could see his sincerity. He only played here 4 years and I think set the record for consecutive starts at 50...and he was good, but not an AA.He just understands and has oodles of heart. He always played that way. He took over one of the worst possible situations possible. He didn't pack it in. He never cried about the lambasting he got from many in media and the "fans." Michigan made the right move, obviously. They did it without buying some name who quit his last team.I think Meyer is all money and glamor. |

Fine work. Honest, I will never be an Ohio State fan again. If they win the NC 4 years in a row---I won't do it. They have sold out to Nike , etc,and their own worship of money. They roar all powerful until something hits and then they all run for cover. Enough for me. |
Well, evidently, now in the starring roles of Joe Paterno and Jerry Sandusky we present Jim Boeheim and Bernie Fine. And EVPN sitting on a taped phone call for 8 years. Of course it's all alleged, but at this point I'm inclined to believe all of it. And it features Fine along with his wife having sex with the same boy. If that tape is really Fine's wife, it's the pure embodiement of evil. I wish I hadn't listened to it.

Boeheim probably shouldn't have come out so strongly against the accusers when this first came out, he was wrong there. But I don't think he just ignored it for the sake of the university like Paterno did. Of course, I could be totally wrong as it's getting more and more difficult to take anything these guys say at face value. |

Admit to be pleased as aging MerHigh with the vaporization of the Dukettes by Ohio State.
Seeing their Polish coach getting very upset was quite amusing. |

He was sure a good grab.
Hard as it is, I think they just might be better this year although I really liked Havlicek II. I think I heard Kentucky runs very deep, but it's nice to think about winning the big burrito this year. |
I'm actually looking forward to the Cavs season, they're still more fun when they're bad. The Indians are still the only team that I REALLY want to win. The other two--wins and losses are about the same. Tristan, Kyrie and Omri are funner names to cheer for than LeBronze. I'll say Ravens 27 and Browns 13 this week. We have a new long snapper too this week, that caused me to up it from 10 to 13 points this week!! I'll say this week four more times this week, and then this week I'll be done this week. This week is over.
(Rian Pontbriand...you and Phil Dawson were so good for so long, why'd you have to mess up the best combo in the NFL this year?? My Christmas is a bit sadder now this year.) |
Wish I could add to your comments.
About the only thing I'd say is a turtle could have done better than Pontbriand. In fact.....I better not say it. Stranger things have happened. |
They're only being outgained 410 to 150 so far early in the 4th. It's not the most even matchup in NFL history I guess!!
