My tix just sold for the price I paid for our last horse so I'm sportin' a chubby the size of a two inch Zamboner! Plus I got a standing room spot tonight to boot. I brought my skates just in case Q wants me to skate after the game with the cup over my head. Looking for a big game from the entire or-gan-I-za-tion. Look for me after the game. I'm wearing RED.

Congrats Chicago - what a fantastic series - I'm going to miss these games.

Not a chance. Chicago was the better team and deserves to raise the cup. See how it works with adults? |

Its one of the greatest put together teams/organizations/dynasties i've seen in hockey, from the top down. They don't concern themselves with Presidents trophy's or #1 seeds, b/c the team starts the season built for the playoffs and ends the season built to go deep in the playoffs. They know what it takes to win, they don't panic, everyone plays their part, and if they can't play their part they're traded or sat while others are expected to pick up the slack, que timmonen and his 5 min TOI throughout the entire series. TB has nothing to hang their head about, they're extremely young and made a hell of a run this season, they should be contenders for years to come. like a lot of people have alluded to, it's going to be tough to bring the band back again for another great run like this in the salary cap era, the belt is starting to tighten and i think the Hawks are gonna have to make some key decisions in the off season, specifically shipping sharp out and getting Saad a long-term deal. but let's enjoy it for now, can't wait for the parade, and hopefully this stops the fahkn rain for a day!!! -bt- |

We had a great series with Chicago - one for the ages. In fact, even with "lowly" Tampa in the mix, it drew the 2nd largest TV audience in 18 years - So much for "The original 6" being the only draw in the sport. Of course I wished it would have ended a little differently - but nothing but proud of the effort and the grit my team played with and can't wait for next year. The last thing I'm going to do is complain about how unfair it was that a chunk of our key players got hurt. Chicago won it, on the square - their fans should be very proud - helluva team they've got. |

Don't dish it out if you can't take it. The Lightning have a great team and I've said so this whole time. But your coach is a colossal douche, your radio play-by-play guy has the most grating celebration voice this side of John Sterling and your arena has to resort to a restrictive jersey policy and still ends up with 50% opposing fans at every game. Without even mentioning the players, it's a supremely annoying franchise that I know I'll have to deal with in the playoffs the next few years, so don't clutch your pearls when I take some delight in your defeat. |

Post script - They still are inferior to the Lightning and likely will be for a long, long time. Also pointed out that I don't give a flying rats asz what anyone - not from here - thinks about this city, it's fan base, or how much disposable income people that don't reside in a large market are will to part with to attend a game. Senseless drivel that a few butt hurt Ranger fans felt the need to resort to when reality bitch slapped them across the face. It was really kinda funny. So again, if sticking up for this team and this area in the face of a barrage of insults from RANGAAAH trolls makes me a "loudmouth", then guilty as charged. I really could not possibly care any less. Quote:

Yeah you're such a crusader. Totally not just a preening clown who made everyone hate him the last few months because he's painfully insecure about his city and team. Right on Dan.

Rangers are still the best team!:D

Maybe Bishop can borrow American Pharoah's ear plugs next year. Or the owner can ban cheering as well as opposing team's jerseys. :zz:

according to you, i'm not a fan at all. at any rate, i'm sorry you guys lost. it's not a great feeling to be so close and have it all go up in smoke. but i did find your above post about being an adult ironic, considering all you wrote in the entire thread. |
I just want to add that I have never been a hockey fan or watched games on TV.....but I did watch the Cup games when my freakin cable (comcast sucks) was working, I missed game 4. My son and I watched game 3 on the road travelling, nice bonding moment :). Now I must admit, I wished it would have gone to Game 7 so I could have watched just one more game before it was over.....I think the NHL just gained a new fan, me......not sure if I will ever be a one team supporter but I will be a fan......and like horse racing, all the comments and opinions I read here help me to pay attention and learn a little each time I watched a game. I cant wait until next season starts! :tro:

it is so great live. been going since i was a kid. i was 7 when the caps started. my husband had no idea about hockey. we didn't have him watch it on tv, we took him to a game. he's been hooked now for almost 30 years. it is far and away the best thing to see live-football on the other hand is best watched on tv. i settle for watching hockey on tv. no matter where they put the cameras, they can't get the whole rink. as for becoming a new fan of something..i've actually watched a bit of the nba finals, hoping for golden state to win. but, the squeaking shoes drive me NUTS. |

That said, in terms of a live product, it might be my favorite to go to live, especially Blackhawk games. |

"Emergency crews pulled a man from the Chicago River Thursday night after he reportedly jumped in to save his Blackhawks cap, according to the Chicago Tribune.
The man was taken to the hospital as a precaution and appeared in good condition. The police wrapped the victim in a black blanket and life vest — and let him wear his cap. Two million people paraded through Chicago on Thursday for a rally at Soldier Field, celebrating the Blackhawks' first Stanley Cup win on home ice since 1938. —Jeva Lange" |

I was hoping they'd stay, and the league would add two teams to the west, even it up again. I don't know if Vegas will work, but it can't be worse than az, can it? |
