Both of those statements are a joke. Unless they had a freak rainstorm that didn't register on any of the weather websites I checked, they got between .10 and .15" of rain over the past two days.

That dirt has to be fast and I'm not shocked at the babying of the turf.

Maybe they are trying to save it for the week of the 20th..................

They are very concerned it will end up like Calder, GP or FG. So, the minute a horse pisses on it, they take them off.

I just about have my late pick 4 ticket narrowed down to a shade under $200...for .50:wf

I feel your pain. My first run through of the early one had me at $160 for $.50. Should've gone Ness/Ness/All/All for $56 on a $1 ticket.

Bigsmc 02-08-2012 01:02 PM

The one time you'd like to see Ness (4-1) go on by the leader (5-2), he doesn't.

Just in the 4th race today.

The 3 winning the 5th @7-1 just made things a little interesting for me. It at least gives me something to cheer about in the 6th.

Gotta love 1st claim Ness... conditioned 8K goes a second and a fifth off the track record over a course that hasn't exactly been kind to speed.

When I saw this horse's entry this AM, I predicted a track record, based on what he did with Bear Always yesterday. I was wrong:o But only by a second and a 5th

Bigsmc 02-12-2012 02:05 PM

I can only shake my head at the 6th and move on.

Late P4:

7 - 3,5,7,9
8 - 3,6
9 - 1,4,7,8,10
10 - 2,3,11,12

Rudeboyelvis 02-12-2012 02:10 PM

Seth, I figured based on the form he had w/ Pletcher, that Ness would have this one running out of his skin... Used the 5 also in the P4, but that was only to have something live if Goncalves fell off the 4...lol

Actually came back nice with the bomb in the 6th...

Rudeboyelvis 02-12-2012 02:11 PM

Late P4:

3,8,9
2,3,6,10
1,2,3,4,10
2,3,12

I think you can ask the same question of HVG - he shadowed Garcia and gets the horse settled and saves all the ground, then lets the rail close instead of going with the horse when he's clear

Rudeboyelvis 02-12-2012 02:42 PM

Thanks Mike - got 'em

Rudeboyelvis 02-12-2012 02:54 PM

I need to go back to the beginning of the meet and count how many P4 tickets I've ripped up due to leaving Rosemary off of them. I can think of about 6 of them off hand :(:(

That's the second win in a week for Brenda McCarthy off the claim. I know better, but that one didn't seem to be good enough.
