The Centaur Stakes is this weekend.
I'm assuming Dasher Go Go will be the favorite BUT remember kids... leave the Hong Kong Raiders (applause :D) out of your wagers at your own risk. Five words... Green Birdie and Lucky Nine. Tye and Brett are opting to miss opening day at Sha Tin to be here so that kinda says a lot... |
The bad news... all 5 international runners have been withdrawn (Tenno Sho).
Good news? Here are the first noms for internationals for the Mile Championship... Selected Horses from Foreign Countries Sunday, November 20 CITYSCAPE EXCELEBRATION MIDDAY AWAIT THE DAWN SO YOU THINK ZOFFANY IMMORTAL VERSE SAHPRESA SIDNEY'S CANDY ... and for the Queen Elizabeth II Cup... Shuka Sho... http://japanracing.jp/_news2011/111014.html Love Whale Capture... think Marcellina hits the board and have to take a closer look at DD cause of her dad who I loved. :D Cheers to Kenichi Ikezoe by the way... the jockey for WC who is humble and just seems like a real class individual. |
Good luck to Orfevre tonight in the Kikuka Sho (Japanese St. Leger)!
Who wouldn't love to see another Triple Crown winner? PPs... http://japanracing.jp/_news2011/pdf/111012.pdf Barrier draw... http://japanracing.jp/_news2011/111021.html |
Orfevre
Kenichi Ikezoe... "He's much sharper than he was for the Kobe Shimbun Hai, and he had a lot left in the tank for that race. He worked to the limit today. He responded so well at the end today. I could tell right away that he had a good summer when he came back to us. He really filled out; he was completely lean. In the 3,000 meters at Kyoto, you race past the grandstand once and go through the hill on the third turn twice. More than anything, it's important for the jockey and the horse to be as one. I'm not worried about the competition. This is between me and Orfevre. I'd prefer that we didn't draw too far on the outside; an inside barrier would be better. He was five horses from the front in his last race, and we want to be in a similar position when we turn for home this time. That's about where Deep Impact was when he won it. I don't think we'll be able to make up for everything on the final straight. Orfevre is good enough to win the Triple Crown, and we've got to make sure he gets it done. I'm thrilled to be in the position of someone trying to become the seventh Triple Crown winner of all time. There's a lot of pressure and responsibility on me. There's a part of me that wants it to be over and done with, but a part of me that can't wait. I think I'll be pretty nervous on the day of the race." :) Yasutoshi Ikee (trainer) "He had put on 16 kilograms for his last start, but much of it was him growing. He got off to a really good start in the race and held position throughout, which was a positive sign for us. He was only at about 80 percent for his last race. I can say for sure that he's in better shape than he was then. He was very sharp today over the last furlong; he'll be a lot leaner this time. This race will be completely different to the Kobe Shimbun Hai, which is at Hanshin over 2,400 meters. The impression I have is that it's a difficult course. It didn't work out for his father Stay Gold (eighth in 1997) but his grandfather Mejiro McQueen won the Kikuka Sho in 1990. In terms of pedigree, I'd say it's about 50-50. The competition will do everything they can to stop us from winning the Triple Crown so we can't afford to let up. You don't get an opportunity like this too often. I hope we can come through for the fans." |
Absolutely beautiful to see. :tro:
He did it. :) |

I'm thinking Reve d'Essor and Snow Fairy in the top spot with Whale Capture, Aventura, Apapane, and Broad Street underneath somehow. Don't want to toss Dancing Rain but can't use them all, right?! Not sure yet... still pondering. I usually post the replays in Japanese but here...for anyone who didn't see Snow Fairy win last year? This is absolutely spectacular (and the link is in English). Look to the left and scroll down to video 2010 and watch. Amazing. http://japanracing.jp/_news2011/111111-03.html |

This is Clyde's trained Zebra, Stanley.
My master is dead...but I know he would have chose Pelusa. And that he would have shouted encouraging words to you in that contest Stevie wasn't allowed to enter. He loved you. My master. Not Stevie. |

Clyde wanted you to have this. It is a powerful love song/ heart ripper....the last girl he gave it to broke down and is now in a broken heart hospital. Multiple fractures. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XWty_...eature=related |
I see that put you right down too.
You should have been nicer to Clyde, so too bad...way it goes. Catch me on AnimalPlanet. You will see me whizzing on a white wolf. Warm personal regards, Stanley the Striped Zebra |
Aaah you have been resurrected!
I thought it would have happened on the Alan thread. You surprise me, Sir! |
Lookie here, first---I am Stanley the Trained Zebra...OK?
Second lookie here....that thread has a spell on it.If Clyde gets reanimated, he can't go there.Neither can I.Either of us will die immediately. The spell must be removed. YOU must do this thing. Have to go, left my car lights on again. |
