Good luck everyone!

You're obviously not feeling too well, go have a lay down :p

It rained most of the evening and well into the night here last night, very heavy rain. I'm just over an hour from Caulfield, but if they got half of what we did it'll still be pretty soft there today. That does concern me for both the Brits.

Scurlogue Champ 10-16-2009 06:47 PM

I think the Euros drown here.

Even though the aussie contingent doesn't look too formidable.

Both Kirkless and Cima De Triomphe should be too good.

Remember the horse who won the race last year for Godolphin? All The Good. He was merely a moderate handicapper. These two are genuine group horses, with Cima De Triomphe being a genuine Gr1 horse.

The Caulfield Cup is Gr1 by name only this year.

Granted that they are both fit enough, either will be hard to beat.

If I'm wrong, I'm wrong but in my opinion we haven't bought over two better horses than these.

brockguy 10-17-2009 12:47 AM

got up to watch this..

have the 2 euros boxed with Fiumicino and Ready to Lift! Good Luck all..

brockguy 10-17-2009 01:13 AM

Barts a terrible trainer isnt he :)

magic_idol 10-17-2009 01:16 AM

lol pick his horse that finished last in this race to win the melbourne cup ;-)

magic_idol 10-17-2009 01:20 AM

Just Got a Text from Nochancetodance & he wanted me to put this up for him ,

.Cima De Triomphe very dissapointing!! No excusess.Still with them for Flemington though,

As For Me........ desua vue ..Last year they said the pom horses were the best .. same this year still waiting to see it ;-)

my miss storm cat 10-17-2009 11:52 AM

Aaaah well, cheers to Viewed. :)

CSC 10-17-2009 12:13 PM

I bet the other Bart Cummings horse that finished 2nd, never thinking of betting the Cummings quinella...The guy is the best in styers races, I wonder if this sets up a blind Cummings Melbourne Cup wager regardless of who he enters.

magic_idol 10-17-2009 06:54 PM

I dont know why i back anything else :-( over the years imagine how rich id be if i just backed barts this time every year :-)

Whobegotyou :tro: to win but it's bordering on disturbing how many horses I love and will root for in the Cox Plate. :D One of the greatest fields evah! G/l El Segundo:{>: , Zipping (no shot but who cares), dearest Sir Slick (come home safe), NdJ, etc.

There is a whole bunch of mediocrity in this field: the markets are saying that it is basically a two-horse race between Whobegotyou and Heart of Dreams.

At $21, Road To Rock looks like a roughie to use.

Enjoy the race.

Hmmmmmmmm,Bottom of the list ? two horse race ?....

Everyone is allowed their opinion but i will now show were youve made a few errors.
Two Horse Race ?.SPEED GIFTED (GB) & ROCK KINGDOM & SO YOU THINK
Might have a few things to say about that, it's just whobe is a exceptional horse like sunline in her day.
The Field is 14 the most that has contested this race in along time!!!
The Big El is Washed up, 2 years past his prime ?
He has had serious leg injury & colin little said we are nursing him for the cox plate his coat & condition are exellent as opposed to 3 weeks ago you havnt seen el @ his best yet so i wouldnt be surprised if he enters the mix after all he is a mooney valley speacialist.

In the wrap up there will be winners & Losers who ever wins will go into history & whoever loses will fade into dust Like all Great races.
But Quote this Cox Plate field is at the bottom of the list for the last decade Unquote ,I don't think so!!!

If I were to come up with a dream field that I'd like to see, this one would come close.

Not going to fight or even debate... surely you've followed the game for longer and we each are entitled our opinions.

I am so excited about this race, I can't even tell you. I'm at a loss as to how anyone could call this star studded field mediocre.

Sorry that it's disappointing to you. I hope you do well tonight.

I shall be cheering and jumping up and down, crying if Sir :{>: or El  do well :) and loving every damned second of the crappy coverage on TVG.

Cheers! :p

Good luck everyone and come home safe, kids.

Thankfully, Sir Slick has been scratched.

Yes 2005 was wonderful (God she was brilliant) and being a fan of FOO so were his wins.

Quite a few have won this race twice... maybe El can do it (???).

edit - What are the odds on Black Piranha right now??? Hmmm.....

lol i thought bart has the melbourne cup & caulifield cup tied up ,but the cox plate  what we call the purests cup is whobegotyou's:(

magic_idol 10-24-2009 02:20 AM

Well everyone has the shits with me my mate cause i didnt go all in on the cat, My wife cause i spent a $100 on whobegotyou ;-(,
Time i pulled a rabbit outta my arse which is of course is the Mckinnon Cup,
Bart dont give a shi#t about this race as his only run around to get the feel for tuesday but has been a great banker for me as a outsider bet ;-)

CSC 10-24-2009 10:51 AM

I don't know how Cummings does it, I didn't think that 3 yr old had a chance to win and at best he was a prospect to hit the board. I wonder if he can keep this up in the Melbourne Cup, probably one of his more unheralded horses will win and it wouldn't surprise me if he does it again.

my miss storm cat 10-24-2009 12:54 PM

Cheers to anyone who had the winer...
