They are little mischief makers,Bid.

Heard they were up like 5-1 last night...turned mytube on only to see HJ in the field looking bewildered. I knew he had done something bad.

Then they replayed the play he just didn't make.

I knew then that I was right.

My exact words were-----------Oh my God.

And I turned it off.

The Bid 04-18-2008 10:07 AM

They won last night but I went against them.

Do not embarrass fine sloths everywhere....Bidster!!!

horseofcourse 04-18-2008 12:15 PM

Even in 11-1 victories you guys find and focus on the bad!!

NBA playoffs start Saturday, I feel I will need full body armor from the coming assault on here!! I hate to admit, I am not even a little bit confident this year.

The Bid 04-18-2008 12:18 PM

Cavs will be very lucky to make it out of the first round

Mortimer 04-18-2008 01:34 PM

ror!

Here'sJhonny is hard to ignore man!

The Cavs-Wash series.

Witness......... to an execution.

horseofcourse 04-18-2008 01:49 PM

The Cavs are in deep trouble...opposite of last year when both the team and LeBron were playing better the 2nd half of the year. LeBron is not playing nearly as well as he was the first half of the year (even I can see that!). Last year he elevated his game as the year went on through the playoffs at least until the Spurs completely aborted him. Of course Sczerbiak may apply some lock down defense on Butler to pull them through! You can beat Wash in the interior. If they realize this, and Z and Smith can score 30 a game combined they actually have a chance. Not sure if they'll realize this. Z's had lots off good games against Wash in both regular and post season.

Mortimer 04-18-2008 08:18 PM

And a so-so team can always ignite in the playoffs.

That could be the Cavaliers.

But I don't have any Monopoly money on it.

horseofcourse 04-19-2008 05:48 PM

Nice first game for the Cavs. Though...game 2 is the big one for the team with home court. Very impressed with LeBron today. Very controlled game Avery. He forced nothing. He dominated in the areas he should...in transition and on penetration. And in the points of the game when he should have...when they were down 11 in the 2nd quarter and the last 4 minutes of the game. Only saw him take one 3 pointer early in the first quarter...didn't count his last second heave at the half. I thought good game plan by Brown. They made a concentrated effort to continually feed Z in the post all game long. That paid dividends. The entire team was involved in the offense...even though Wally and West struggled shooting at times. I thought this paid dividends as well as they outscored Wash on an 8-1 run with LeBron on the bench end of 3rd and start of 4th.

I saw almost none of the offense of give it to LeBron and let him dribble until 8 seconds are on the clock and have him heave a 24 footer off balance. Even in crunch time they stayed away from the urge to have him dominate the ball and had Gibson and/or West handling the ball and dish to a MOVING LeBron to get easier penetration to the hole for the two bigggest baskets of the game when under 2 minutes left.

They still shot poorly...Varejao can't make a layup, and LeBron was still abysmal from the foul line (will cost them eventually.) But overall one of the best games I've seen LeBron play in awhile. Still a long way to go...but for at least one game they did things the right way.

(statistically 24 assists on 30 made baskets is tremendous (with 4 players with 4 or more)...and the shot distribution was about perfect...19 for LeBron...17 for Z and 10 each for West, Wally and Gibson.).

Mortimer 04-19-2008 11:07 PM

I did not see the game, but did like your breakdown of it.

The Bid 04-20-2008 09:40 AM

Nice first game?

Brown was still running offensive sets through Verajo with 2 minutes left, down 2. The offense is terrible, Szerbiak cannot shoot at all, Im almost embarrassed hes white. Without some very key misses by Washington the Cavs are down. They didnt outplay Washington to the tune of 10 points. The game they played last night simply wont get it done with a decent team. It may not get it done with Washington

Mortimer 04-20-2008 09:55 AM

I should have known Horse would lie.

The Bid 04-20-2008 10:08 AM

We see the game completely different. The Cavs are very lucky Washington choked late.

I am aware how local sporty coverage guys will spin a game.

I fear we shan't be long for the run this year.

They missed shots late. The Cavs missed shots early...5 for their first 22. did the Cavs choke early?? Every game is not won or lost due to choking. The Cavs adjusted to the very good defense Stevenson played on James early and the early misses. I mean it's a bit ridiculous, you could say the Cavs win by 20 if they don't shoot 5 for their first 22. But you really can't say that. I guess perhaps it is choking...but how really did you see the game differently?? Other than you calling it choking. That is not seeing the game differently at all.

What didn't you see?/ 24 assists on 30 baskets?? did you not see that??. Feeding the ball to Z?? Did you not see that?? LeBron not taking a 3 pointer the last 44 minutes of the game?? DId you not see that??

What did you see that was so different?? Luck is part of everything. OF course the Wizards went cold late...so what? The other stuff happened too.

A win is still a win. They did things better than they have been. You guys are so anti Brown and anti LeBron you refuse to see anything. Find me the last game they had 4 guys with 4 or more assists. Find me the last game they had assists on 80 percent of their buckets. Find me the problem with offensive sets under 2 and a half minutes when down 2 and then with 55 seconds left you are up 4?? You have problems with 6 point swings in one minute??

For shooting under 40 percent...they got as much out of their offense as they possibly could. The ball movement was much better than it had been.

It means nothing...and they could still lose the series...I never said they played a great game. You're talking about a team that lost 3 straight to the Chicago Bulls minus Drew gooden...I think winning a playoff game qualifies as a nice win

I APOLOGIZE AGAIN.

I should have known the Bidster is a BIG LIAH!

horseofcourse 04-20-2008 12:27 PM

Honestly what would you guys come back with if I said grass was green??

Jesus Christ...I saw a team that had quite frankly played some putrid basketball the last 3 weeks actually come out and win a playoff game and I said nice game.

Grass is green.

Mortimer 04-20-2008 12:40 PM

Now wait a minute.

I said I did not see the game.

So I do not know the truthful version.

I said you both lied.

OK?

By the way....ever heard of Kentucky Blue Grass?

Mortimer 04-20-2008 01:09 PM

One thing I think we all can agree on is the Indians line up would revive JoeB's career were he on all the teams we will face.

We're in huge trouble here.

The Bid 04-20-2008 04:07 PM

The Cavs didnt do anything except let Lebron carry them. The Cavs have the worst coach in the business. You want to see a well coached team watch the Jazz. They dont make mistakes, they execute perfectly, they hit the boards, they make open looks, they play team defense, and they HUSTLE. Thats how well coached teams play. They dont run up and down the court and fire from the hip. The Jazz dont have a loaded roster, but they play the most complete team game in the league.

The Cavs will always live and die by Lebron because thats how they are coached. To just keep it close until the forth and hope Lebron can carry you home. That sir, is poor coaching

I can say that I have witnessed this thing too many times.

Now Horsey is once again the BIG LIAH!

The Bid 04-20-2008 04:14 PM

Asdrubal made a great play yesterday at SS that Heres Johnny couldnt make in a dream. Charged a ball and released smoothly getting the runner by a step. Today heres Johnny tried it and couldnt get the ball out of his glove, and was winded for 3 innings afterwards

horseofcourse 04-20-2008 06:04 PM

Peralta stinks, Sabathia stinks, Mike Brown stinks, LeBron doesn't get it, I got it.

Fine Bid, the Jazz play the right way. They play better than Cleveland. They are simply a better team than Cleveland. The facts simply are the Cavs played a pretty good game yesterday. I didn't say they were going to win the series...or that they would repeat that performance or anything. I said for one game they played pretty well. As I said 24 assists on 30 made baskets is a remarkable achievement for the Cavs and a ball movement challenged team. And LeBron James did not dominate the ball yesterday as often happens. THAT MY FRIEND IS NOT PLAYING THE GAME FIRING FROM THE HIP. The Jazz by comparison had 22 assists on 38 made baskets. So in essence, yesterday the Jazz played more firing from the hip type stuff than Cleveland did.

I have not seen you make one comment on that point I made. Because you simply can't. It is simply easier to just mock my statements.

And the facts are it was not all about LeBron bailing them out yesterday. LeBron sat on the bench starting the 4th down 69-65. 3 minutes later they were up 73-70 when LeBron re-entered the game. They went on an 8-1 run with LBJ on the bench. But again why let the facts get in the way of pre-conceived notions. LeBron did what a star is supposed to...scored 6 straight when they were down 2.

never...never...ever let facts alter anything that goes on in your minds. Again, they have not played well at all since the trade losing 3 straight to Chicago...2 straight to Milwaukee, and many other shabby performances. A postseason win no matter how it comes is simply a good win for this outfit. Crazily, that evidently is not the correct opinion to have. I guess a struggling team winning a post season game is supposed to make me outraged!! You can't even compliment wins.

Amazing that even a statement that a post season win is nice is ripped to shreds on here. Whatever. I know you both eagerly await a poor performance Monday by LeBron, MIke Brown, whomever so I can provide more endless entertainment!!! :D :D :D

horseofcourse 04-20-2008 06:10 PM

I guess this is an Indians thread...Nice week wasting two quality starts by Byrd (maybe his dentist found new ways to get him HGH!) and two by Westbrook. (On the bright side they didn't waste any quality starts by Sabathia this week...those don't exist anymore!!!)

Mortimer 04-20-2008 06:10 PM

So do 13.50 era's.

Correct. Amazingly, Jhonny does stink, yet still leads the team in major offensive categories. What does that say about the rest of the team that an abysmal ball player like Peralta is leading you in runs scored?? Holy crap.

Mortimer 04-20-2008 06:43 PM

It means what I said earlier.....we are in HUGE trouble.

I'd rather be a Cleveland fan right now instead of a Detroit fan. The closer thing is a problem, but CC is not going to go 2-18 this year and they will hit.

and..and..I think the Cavs lose to the Celtics in the East finals

You guys need to be rewarded for being
Cleveland fans. Nothing could be worse.

The suffering endured must be immense.
But when Cleveland wins a championship,
it will be awesome. I would think...

there is nothing better in my opinion than to be a Cleveland fan. (that's why I put up with Avery and Bid!!). I fight with them, but they're usually right!

....and I have promised myself that I won't die til a Cleveland team wins a title...(in my mind that makes me immortal I'd imagine!)
