Yankees are 2-17 this year when they score 3 runs or less.
This is getting ugly!

well when the guy who is being paid $25mm is out partying like a rock star every night and the pitchers are living up to their $$$ either what do you expect

hopefully the red sox will be going on the road soon and maybe we won't keep losing ground , you do know they get an unfair advantage in fenway :D :D

You keep believing that fairy tale Gales. Teams that cant win on the road dont win World Series and traditionally stink in the Playoffs. The Red Sox playoff/world series record since 2003 speaks for itself. They have a better road record so far this year than your Yankees.

A Rod is batting .207?

It's no wonder King Glorious has recently been laying off that absurd notion that A Rod is a better player than Albert Pujols.

This is unfathomable
The Phillies became the first team ever to lose 22 home games by Father's Day.
13-22 at home
24-9 on the road.

This is unheard of!!!! Let Philly keep playing on the road.

Gander 06-24-2009 10:52 AM

How bad do things have to get with the Yankees before we hear talks of Girardi being gone?

Its worked in the past where Steinbrenner has threatened the manager (Torre) and they start winning...

How many games do the Red Sox have to get up before we hear the Girardi buzz?

Don't forget when Billy Martin was being threatened also.

Unfathomable is the best word for this situation. the worst home record and the best road record... yeah that makes sense :zz:

i would say once they get behind 5 games in the wild card the rumors will start to come in the newspaper

they could have casey stengel managing or miller huggins - it doesn't matter Cannon Shell is correct - they are too old to be "contenders" and if a-rod continues to be a shell of his former self it won't matter

I conducted a list of best Home/Road records listed back to 2004. The Phils have the smallest differential. In fact with current records, they are the only team that are in the negative at (-8).

Tampa, Milwaukee, and Boston have the largest differential not including this year at 143, 127 and 116 respectively. Most teams hover between 56-93.

Good one. How do you explain all the big wins on the road during the Postseasons? Their road record is outstanding.

Save for 2005 when they got blown out by the White Sox, who were probably the best single team of this decade, they have performed very well on the road when it counts, and all those wins came against the best teams:
Yankees, A's,Indians, Angels, Cardinals, Rockies quickly come to mind.

too samll a sample set

look at crown's numbers , it's obvious MLB wants the red sox in the playoffs .....the curse , red sox nation, etc , etc .....how do you explain that they are + 116 over the last 5 yrs playing the same teams with the same players each year....watch the game and look at the differences in strike zones that the umps give to their pitchers vs the road pitchers in fenway , it's almost comical

And you claim the calls constantly go against the Yankees, costing them games, and an appearance in last year's postseason, the year before an early exit to the Inidians in round 1.

Now why would the MLB possibility not want the Yankees in the playoffs?

I would think the most popular team in all of sports, whether you love them or hate them, would be great for ratings?

Whats your answer on this?
