I actually only got $65+ with my two P3's (races 3 & 4) - it was the $189 tri in the 5th that really did it for me... I also got the winner in all 6 races

I'll never pick that well again for the rest of my life... just call it the luck of 7/7/07 :D

Personally.......I wish you'd have bought a lotto ticket!

Even better for you -- I was just going back doing some spot checking on some of the calculations I made, and I had completely overlooked your first pick-3.

So actually, you're $21.70 further in the lead than we originally thought!

Everything else seems to be correctly calculated, though. Your correct total is reflected in my original standings post.

Buffymommy 07-09-2007 04:05 PM

CONGRATS DC!!!!

I will live happily in the moment (for now) that I am over the $100 mark. Mira may take it away but I will be happy for now. :)

Thanks for adding all that up brian.

I'm going to need all the lead I can get, I'll probably never pick this well again for the rest of the Arlington meet :o

I have no doubt that Brian and Scav will catch up soon enough :( But until then, I'm going to enjoy this! :D

p.s. Good picks Buffy, maybe you'll take the lead soon!

A little business first -- and this is pending Miraja's approval as that one created the contest. I did pull up the original contest thread, and there was no mention of having to split entries and pick a specific horse, so I used regular wagering rules that a bet on either part of the entry counted as a bet on the entire entry (and that counts for exotics as well, Buffy! as long as Miraja says it's okay :o ).

And it appears Avance did not get the memo after posting his picks, so I translated them for him using the original post's "program numbers," so that he didn't get totally shut out...once again, pending Miraja's decision on how cutthroat we want to be.

Huge congrats to DerbyCat, who took a huge lead now thanks to a wonderfully played Pick-3 and hitting half of the trifecta that got kicked into the stratosphere by Lady Lionel sucking up into fourth to claim the kicker slot in that exotic in the Lincoln Heritage.

Name - Previous Total - This Wk - Current Total

1) DerbyCat - $23.00 + $353.10 = $376.40
2) brianwspencer - $111.00 + $19.70 = $130.70
3) ArlJim78 - $76.30 + $42.50 = $118.80
4) Buffymommy - $21.20 + $94.80 = $116.00
5) avance2000 – $7.40 + $82.60 = $90.00
6) 2 Dollar Bill - $11.00 + $76.50 = $87.50
7) miraja2 - $16.00 + $68.80 = $84.80
8) Gaines2b - $0.00 + $80.80 = $80.80
9) Angelsita - $14.00 + $60.80 = $74.80
10) Cajungator26 - $26.20 + $34.80 = $61.00
11) dylbert - $10.80 + $39.40 = $50.20
12) Scav - $9.80 + $39.80 = $49.60
13) timmgirvan - $26.10 + $9.20 = $35.30
14) Swedejxn - $9.80 + $19.30 = $29.10
15) trifecta124 - $26.20 + NP = $26.20
16) viscount26 - $14.80 + NP = $14.80
17) gamblin4ever – $10.80 + NP = $10.80
18) Aewingnut – $0.00 + NP = $0.00
19) kickslions – $0.00 + NP = $0.00

Thanks Brian for doing these numbers. I will just trust their accuracy. The last few nights on Bourbon Street may have permanently damaged my brain's ability to add, so your help is greatly appreciated. Just one more night to survive and then I'll be back in Chicago.
I agree that Buffy should get credit for betting the whole entry, and that avance2000 should get credit made for his picks from the original list.
As for DerbyCat, she needs to be immediately thrown out of the contest. Going six for six and tossing in some high-priced exotics in one day is quite simply unfair. She is just running up the score on us now.
I had not originally intended to include multi-race wagers like the pick-3 in the contest, but since I never actually excluded it, and there isn't any harm in it, we might as well leave it in. Hitting a pick-3 with $4 is tough, so if people can do it.....why not?
With the way that DerbyCat was picking on Saturday, we are probably lucky that she played pick-3s and not superfectas.

The good news is, we still have 16 races left - including the Round Table Stakes this coming Saturday - so there are still plenty of opportunities to hit that big exotic and catch her.

Buffymommy 07-10-2007 10:47 AM

YEAH! I get to stay in my happiness for breaking the $100 mark! :) Thanks Mira!

Congrats again to Derby Cat. She deserves it. I seriously doubt I (or anyone else) can catch her.

DerbyCat 07-10-2007 07:50 PM

Well, I got lucky on 7/7/07 but I didn't get lucky with my job interview in Austin - I got the "thank you for your interest but we have offered the job to another candidate" call yesterday... guess I'm stuck in Spokane for awhile longer :(

Now I've just got to buckle down and finish my master's thesis :o
