Flyers aren't pure as the driven snow either, but the Adams/Hartnell/Crosby nonsense could have been avoided altogether if the officials had just given Neal a misconduct in the first place.

Looking at the tape from yesterday, the Penguins who legitimately deserve suspensions are Neal, Asham, Letang, and Craig Adams. I'd guess only two of those guys will end up serving time, but Letang going after a guy like Timonen and Adams pummeling Hartnell from behind whilst he was locked up with Crosby would also be worthy of supplemental discipline in the regular season.
don't forget he also pulled harnell's hair...

why did they make such a big deal about that on t.v. yesterday? is it because it's usually girls fighting who engage in hair pulling? or is it because it was hartnell, and hartnells hair?

Caps are headed in the same direction as USA's economy did post 9/11. Down the tubes. Its a shame, i was starting to like that little rivalry we had with them when they were an actual threat.

That was something. Young goaltenders should watch that game as an example of what to do when the play in front of goes all to hell. Both goalies, Anderson was also amazing.

Simmonds went out and gave Neal a couple shoves on his way to the penalty box. Neal ended up back towards the bench area where a couple Flyers jabbed at him for his two hits on the previous shift. Crosby yanked down Hartnell from behind, and Adams started beating on Hartnell while he was still tied up with Crosby. Ergo, Adams isn't playing tomorrow.

He also pulled Hatnell's hair in the fight, I think that's where the suspension came from.

Dale Hunter defended it saying the Bruins have been targeting Backstrom's head. Lol Dale Hunter wouldn't know anything about cheap shots after the whistle. :rolleyes:

That's what goons are for and Hunter knows that. If Hunter believes what he said and they were targeting Backstrom's head, send someone out that you don't mind getting suspended and take care of business. Don't let one of your top flight guys have to defend himself and get suspended.

Sounds more like Hunter covering up for Backstrom's stupidity.

He's just trying to plant the seed so it will hopefully void/lessen any suspension that the NHL hands down.

I agree, that's a selfish penalty too. The player has to know better.

backstrom will miss game four unless shanahan overturns the match penalty. considering the blocker by thomas to the face, the highstick last night to backstroms head...yeah, dale might be on to something.
but yeah, dale can preach about hits-he knows all about them!
