Ok you have officially confused yourself- well done. I never said anything about caring or not caring about the military. OF COURSE I care about the military. For the record, if there were a draft I would be proud to serve my country to protect our ideals. However, don't lie to me, you did not join the military so "people like me don't get drafted". You joined because (a) you're proud of your country and (b) it's excellent employment. One of those benefits of employment is a pension in retirement, which most Americans do not have anymore (especially in the private sector) as we continually move away from a corporate management culture that values it's employees and appreciates loyalty and tenure to their employer.
I did not vote for Obama, in fact, as I thought his programs in theory were too progressive. I did not vote for McCain, either, as quite frankly the thought of Palin as the President if McCain were to pass (a real possibility at his age and condition) scared me.
