I read where this person did this last year, too. He seems good at this. What a prize he is.

How about we trade you Papelbum for Broxton, straight up?

LOL, at least the guy who plays for your team actually looked like he cared. Papelbum didnt appear to be fazed and may have not known it was an elimination game.

Broxton bears a striking resemblance to Erik Gagne, no?

Of course the Yankees never lose, they are always somehow cheated. Reason #4583.

The only positive that I can take out of last nights game is that CC didn't have his best stuff and only gave up 2 runs.
I'm not sure that Cliff Lee can be as dominate again (even though he has been lights out so far in the playoffs).

Otherwise,
The Yanks bullpen has issues.
Texieria, Matsui, Swisher, Cano just not hitting. Jeter and A-Rod can only carry a team so far.
No real other option on the bench to Sub for someone. Phils have such a gut of Left handers that kind of keeps Hinske on the bench (although wouldn't be suprised to see to see him tonight)
The choke factor, even though the are the defending world champs they seemed very loose last night. They are a good team and they know it.
Bombers seemed a bit tight last night and never got the hit or rally early enough to loosen up and get in the game. If they fall behind again tonight, you might see them gripping those a bats even tighter trying to make something happen. There is a ton of pressure on them.
The Girardi factor/small ball. They just refuse to play small ball when needed. Last night with Matsui on first and Cano up (who really has not hit much in the playoffs) and down a run. Let's him swing away and e hits into a DP.

So there are issues. Either Gales and other people don't want to admit it or they just don't believe it, but they are there. I do think that they will shell Pedro tonight. But with that being said I can also see Burnett giving up a few crooked numbers too. Probably will come down to which bullpen does the best damage control tonight. It just feels like a 9-8 game tonight and hopefully the Bombers come out on top.
Not in Panic mode, but I'm definitely concerned.

You are way to rational to be a Yankees fan. I prefer stuff like this:

"won't bother me a bit, i would like to win tonight

if hamels is so good why is he not pitching tonight?

pedro in the cold weather in october , not worried a bit tim , even if we lose tonight we can still win"

GBBob 10-29-2009 07:48 PM

Yankee Stadium is bedlam tonight

yeah...

If Pedro works any slower, I won't make it to the 6th inning.

MaTH716 10-29-2009 09:32 PM

Love him or hate him that was a gutsy effort by Pedro.

MaTH716 10-29-2009 09:45 PM

Tough call that goes against the Yanks. The thing that bothers me is that how can the ump be so adamant about the call if he was behind Howard? How the hell is he supposed know if he caught it or not with a veiw from behind the play? Took them right out of a possible big inning.

MaTH716 10-29-2009 10:34 PM

Wow I was wrong about the run total for tonight. Another great pitchers duel. A.J. did what they paid him to do. He has electric stuff when he's on and he had it going tonight. I actually thought that Girardi should have sent him out there for the 8th.
Can't take anything away from Pedro. He was pretty damn good too (the tempature must have been above 55 for him to pitch like that. ) He pitched well enough and put his team in position to win. The other guys were just a bit better tonight.
I really thought a big play in the game that got overlooked was Werth getting picked off first by Molina. It seemed to charge up the crowd and get them back in the game. Then in the bottom of the inning Texieria finally showed up and there seemed to be a collective breath from the Yankee nation.
It's a best 5 series now. Still looks like it's going to go down to the wire. It's going to be interesting for the Yanks to see if and when A-Rod shows up again and if Texieria and Matsui can move foward off their big hits tonight. Also will Joe Girardi ever bring anyone else in from the bullpen not named Rivera?
Once again the Phillies would not go away. They are a good scrappy team that got the short end of a call in the bottom in the 8th and then sent the tying run up in the 9th against Mo.
Looking foward toward Saturday

This entire series comes down to Cole Hamels in Game 3. We know Pettite is going to give up 2-4 runs over 6-8 innings, he's an established posteason quality start. What we don't know is which Cole Hamels shows up. He could easily throw a shutout in G3 or give up 8 runs and be gone by the 3rd. He's the enigma that ultimately decides the series.

The Yankees have a huge decision when it comes to Gaudin. I personally would pitch him up 2-1. Anything beyond that, I wouldn't use him. Down 2-1, you have to pitch CC and AJ. Game 3 is going to be huge for how the Yankees use their rotation.

That was a bad call, but it was made even with Utley called out on that double play in the 8th. It was real hard to tell with utley, was only able to tell when they slowed it down, so both calls were though calls, and the umps got them wrong both times, but at least it wasnt so blantent.

AJ Burnett was great.. was excited a little when we got to him a small bit early.. but then he turned on another gear and pitched well. Rivira was good too, but was also hopefull seeing us get some hits off him.

Pedro was very good (just a small handful of mistakes that the Yanks capitolized on). was pissing me off when the damn commentaters were like 'he's going to strike out the side.. the heart of the yankees lineup.. I knew Matsui was going to do something when the damn fox guys started talking like that. A little bummed that our pitchers only gave up 3 runs and we couldnt capitolize on that, didnt hit great with runners in scoring position.

On to Philly.. Phillies did what they wanted to and got homefield back, they have been terrific (11-1) in post series games at the Bank.. but this is going to be a great great series. I'm hoping Cole gets his head on right, dont want to pitch out of the bullpen for 5 innings thats for sure.

I'm thinking this series goes 7 games.

I think you will see C.C. on 3 days rest reguardless in Game 4. That would also set him up to pitch game 7 if ness. Gaudin has been ok for the Yanks, but I just think you have to ride your big horse here. I think Game 5 is the open game for the Yanks . Depending where they are in the series, it would probably be Burnett on 3 days if they are down or Gaudin if they are up. If it's Gaudin, that would set up for Burnett in game 6 on normal rest and then having CC for game 7 on 3 days with a rested Pettite in the pen for rescue work.
