Oh.

Those who can see farther than others always are branded as being born of the demon.

Again, personal taste but I simply don't get it...all those times we were stoned in the 60's, to think we could have made a movie...
I'm a TV-first guy of course, think that movies simply can't compare to a good TV show but I suspect most feel differently.

of course its all about personal taste. I would just say that originally Lebowski didn't do much for me, but it really grew on me over time.

Well, I'm glad you enjoy it Jim...I was bored yesterday so I popped in Serenity and watched it for about the 20th time...simply my favorite movie while most have never seen it (or probably care to). Reminds me, I left of Insatiable from my list...has to be a top ten for me!

Great movie.....however I think many would refer to Schnabel as you referenced the others. Though, I am guessing it would be harsher than clown.

I have yet to that picture, I look forward to doing so. Schnabel directed a great film called "Basquiat", about the drug addicted artist Jean Michel Basquiat came out in 1996.

He also directed Before Night Falls with Javiar Bardem which is very good. He's a terrific director.

Well...now don't get me wrong---you are correct here.....but the lack of any fluid storyline whatsoever is the thing that held it back.

Private Ryan..... loved the scenes at the beginning but i just can't sit through Tom Hanks.

It's always watching Tom Hanks as someone. I never believe him.

Before Night Falls was a great film.

blackthroatedwind 02-22-2008 05:01 PM

Saving Private Ryan?

Please Morty. The original Planet of the Apes is better.

Spielberg lost me after Jaws and Close Encounters. I do love Close Encounters.

By the way, I would add Stolen Kisses to my list. It's a great movie.

I would have to disagree here. ( I hope this doesn't cost me valuable brownie points). I never liked him either, but he does make me believe and in vastly different ways. I thought he was very different in this one and played the whole thing really, very well.

Not among my favorite actors, but I can't dispute how good he is.

I have never heard of BNF.

blackthroatedwind 02-22-2008 05:05 PM

You would like Before Night Falls.

I've never seen that one.

My favorite Truffaut is Day for Night. The Last Metro was good too.

I can't remember Jules and Jim..... saw it way too long ago.
