Sorry, I didn't mean to make it sound like I was finding fault in Jara, but that I'd work as hard as possible to be perfect everytime I got on one of the sheik's horses...that's a lot of pressure knowing someone is whispering in the sheiks ear for your job...You would think the 7 wins would have kept Hamdan from making the public comments in the first place. I would have been happy beyond belief that Invasor won.

Without knowing this information I had the same idea. I figured that there must me some top rider(s) that are chirping in his ear about how he needs to take the mount away from Jara, critiquing everything and pointing out the flaws.

i think it would be a bad move, to make a change. No sense tinkering with something working that well.

as i said before in this thread. R Hills is an awful jockey..

Richard Hills? Is he related to Jamie Spencer?:D

brockguy 04-04-2007 12:18 PM

Spencer is definitely talented, but he gets a few too many rushes of blood to the head. He can be infruiating to watch if youve money on him..At Royal Ascot last year, he was top jockey but had so many 2nd and 3rds as well that were just awful, horrible rides..

Sheikh Hamdan not upset with Jara

Despite Invasor’s brilliant victory in the World Cup, two overseas newspapers quoted the colt’s owner, Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid al-Maktoum, as being critical of jockey Fernando Jara’s ride. But McLaughlin said that is not the case.

One paper quoted Hamdan as being upset by Jara’s looking back at certain points in the race. A second paper quoted Hamdan as being upset with Jara for apparently easing up on Invasor, thus allowing Premium Tap an opportunity to come back at him in the stretch.

McLaughlin said Hamdan told Rick Nichols, the racing manager for Sheikh Hamdan’s Shadwell Stable, that he was misquoted and that he was not critical of Jara in any way.

“Sheikh Hamdan was upset; he doesn’t even know where that came from,’’ McLaughlin said. “He was full of praise of Fernando’s ride and tickled to death for the great victory.”

Of course not!

Even I know there's only one thing to believe in all of this..... that no one knows what is true and what's not, what was said and why or what was not said.

Soooo..... wanna talk about Dubai? :p
