Gander 02-09-2007 07:48 PM

Is he a horse that has won 2 races in Feb of his 4 year old year? Yes.

I dont get this? Jazil hasnt won any races since the Belmont Stakes. Can you explain?

Hooves, I wont argue with maybe Jara did move too early, but do you think it cost him any different finishing position? I know you stated a fact, regardless of how good Corinthian was, Jara may have movd too soon. But in my opinion if he waited he would have still been 2nd best, only maybe 3 lengths better at best.

And I dont get the whole "he only cost $25K" argument. Who the heck cares how much horses cost except for the owner? It should make no difference at all to the fans, none. Zip. Nada. The argument is how good a horse Jazil is compared to other triple crown winners.

Like Canon, I will stay firm with my opinion. Doesnt not make him a neat little horse. Ya like him, ya like him.

He is a four year old horse who owns two lifetime wins.

Gander 02-09-2007 07:56 PM

Okay, that makes sense Chuck.

2 lifetime wins is all? Sounds like a "Giacomo" to me.

Now that I think of it, the similarities are very significant.

Picking up checks is great for those on the Dee Tee stable budget but you expect a little more from Classic winners. The fact that he has lost three times in three chances in allowances races does not lead me to believe that he is on his way to the head of the class anytime soon.

Well,if he is so pathetic, then surely you will give me 10-1 odds on him winning a Grade 2 or better in 2007.If he is just gunna pick up minor checks, then you can easily pick up a hundred or 2 from SCUDS.Just give me a minimum of 5 starts(any level) in the rest of 2007.

How about I give you 10-1 that he doesn't make 5 more starts in 2007?

That is a little aggressive....Bernardini made what, 7 total starts, maybe 6...plus if Jazil goes to Dubai, he doesn't get back on track until September, if at all.....bad bet in my opinion, the win bet though, has some teeth to it I think, but I am a 3rd party, so I should C my way out of it

What about these words of yours from earlier today:
"i wont be posting anything here anymore"

Scav 02-09-2007 09:04 PM

What is great about this, is that we have a BINDING agreement between two people, and when Jazil wins, PG1985 is out 2k.......

POINTGIVEN1985 02-09-2007 10:13 PM

no im not giving you 5 starts .... you said 10-1 that he wins a grade 2 this year, i will give you 20-1, but not 5 starts
if you agree then post back

POINTGIVEN1985 02-09-2007 10:14 PM

this is a 20 yo kid who cannot keep his word... he shows back up on the message board just a few hours after his "goodbye cruel world" speech.

he's going to pay somebody on a bet?

POINTGIVEN1985 02-10-2007 06:08 AM

i am going to pay him, i only came back for this 1 reasson, actually i will never have to pay him because the horse wont win, why are you even involved in this senttostud? do you have anything to do with this ?

sorry, i guess. it's just a humorous thread. frankly i don't really care. I have skin tags older than you. Good luck.

Danzig 02-10-2007 07:54 AM

if this were a private conversation, it should be on PM-otherwise just fodder for the masses...

i love when posters get offended when others respond to a thread on a message board, isn't that the point??

ArlJim78 02-10-2007 08:02 AM

we're all involved, we all have a stake. why i don't know what i would do if i found out that i couldn't trust the word of another poster.

plus the fact thats its the duty of all of us to butt in and provide wry commentary on threads that we have nothing to do with.

Alas, I've earned another demerit.

Somehow.... must.... go... on.

That's simple. You both have to send the money beforehand to a 3rd party that you both trust. Kasept probably doesn't want to get involved. Cannon Shell will probably be perceived by Scuds as too partial in the debate. How about someone like Sniper, ArlJim, Hooves, or some other longtime reasonably sane poster that doesn't appear to desparately need $2K?

Best would be if Scuds and ImOuttaHere sent the money via PayPal, so the money could earn 5% in PayPal's moneymarket while the bet is going on. Whoever loses could get his 5% back.

I'm not suggesting a change but I am suprised that others haven't.

Let me suggest a change - make the Jockey CLub Gold Cup 2 miles again, the Woodward 12f, and revive the Saratoga, Pimlico, and Monmouth Cups. Then we'll separate the real classic horses from the pretenders.

In a perfect world that would be great but the problem is not in the racing schedule it is the fact that the mainstream breeders have zero desire to produce these types of horses. Like it or not one of the largest market segments at the high end of the scale is people who are buying to resell. Pinhookers are always going to look for precocious horses as long as we have 2 yr old in training sales. And a lot of buyers are looking for horses hat can earn on their investment in the short term, not long term. The fact that partnerships are geting more and more popular does not help because these people are going to try to buy horses that get to the races fast so thatthey can get action right away. It would be hard to market a partnership that was looking for 2 mile horses since they would not get a chance to race for almost 2 years after the initial investment. I think if you made these races 2 miles you would just wind up with small fields full of slow horses and Jazil.
