Blackhawks in 5.

...and Comets in 7 in the Calder Cup Finals!

That's an absurd assertion, and again, I corrected you. Zuccarello was the only player out with a significant injury. Your team doc either couldn't freeze McDonaugh's foot, or he refused treatment. On them.

And again the rest of this is laughable. Stahl's "hairline fracture" occurred before the playoffs even started. Hairline fractures and grade 1 sprains are part and parcel of this game when you get this far. So while you want to think you are stating facts, in reality you are just stating sour grapes.

And I'll "chime in" anytime I feel the need to diffuse bullsh1t. Which was the case here - no insecurity, at all.

This is classic - the Mayor of the murder capital of the US apparently has more concern over other teams ticket policies than he is the fact the he governs a war zone.

Maybe utilize your resources to make sure your town doesn't look like a scene from Mad Max before wasting it on unfair ticket practices...lol

Maybe if TB fans actually went to the game and cared instead of taking the money grab, it wouldn't be an issue..

Alright...trash talking aside..how about a little wager..Loser sends $100 to Steve for a Horse Rescue donation..Sound good?

It's simple, we call out pussies when we see them. I think you'll be surprised with the Chicago presence despite your 'policies'.

BTW your seats on the glass are going for $5K a pop. Here in Chicago they're $15K a pop. So a Chicago fan can spend a thousand on flight, hotel and food and save $9K by sitting in Tampa or better yet $18K for 2 games.

Steve, trust me when I tell you - nobody gives two flying sh1ts whether a handful of brain-dead mutants show up here. There are already a ton of them who have realized what a sh1thole Chicago is and never went back. They're easy to recognize - they are the first ones to have an opinion about fan support for the local teams, yet have lived here for 20 years and have never supported any of them once.

Population of Chicago (2013) - 2.719 million

Population of Tampa (2013) - 352,957

Same sized of arenas

...hummmphhh...Don't really need an ECON 101 refresher to explain that, do ya?

Bob, I'll make a donation to Thoroughbred Retirement of Tampa http://www.tampatrot.org/ after the series, regardless of who wins.

I only bet Tom because I felt we had a decided advantage against the Rangers.

I know nothing about the Blackhawks, other than what I've seen in the last series.

That said, Crawford is shakier than Lundqvist, and they're not nearly as physical as the Rangers.

So, logic would seem to dictate that this will be a walk over for the Lightning - but as we all know - it's a different animal in the finals...

Perfectly confident in this team, and look forward to a hard-fought battle.

Crawford will be fine...He's won a Cup and has played outstanding other that Nashvile game..which was a looong time ago. It will be a fast series for sure and after the pounding from Anaheim, the Hawks will be able to play more open. Keys that make it Hawks in 6:

1) Coaching..Q gets nod over pretty much anyone you could throw out there.

2) Core D: The big 4 can play the Big minutes again without the physicality they got from Anaheim.

3) Been there, done that: Nice TB wins in MSG, but this is the Finals and Chicago has that intangible that won't let them lose 4 games.

4) 3rd and 4th lines: Triplets and Stamkos line awesome, but can't roll 3 and 4 as strongly.

How TB wins?

1) Special Teams: Chicago PP comes and goes in maddening fashion and although their PK is solid, TB has Stamkos and a great PP and Chicago loves taking Too Many Men on Ice penalties.

2) Injuries: Obvious, and Chicago could absorb any Forward, but if another D goes down, it would be a series changer.

Most recognize hyperbole when they see it - sorry it missed you.

The 10 million people that visit here each year must be huge fans of dumpy, no good beaches. Apparently. Along with the 10's of thousands of Chicagoans that visit and then move here permanently.

TB won a ton of face offs and had great sticks...plus one of the best tip ins ever. Crawford with the big break away save and then Teuvo takes over. I really don't see how TB wins 4 out of 6

Rudeboyelvis 06-03-2015 10:32 PM

I'd retweet all of the chest thumping and cock slinging from when the Rangers dribbled a lucky bounce to win game 1 from the last series...but why bother. You clearly have your hands full boys. You get schooled in game 2, then swept in Sh1t-own....err...Chi-town...my bad :o

Lucky goal?...you had a great push in the first but not much after that. No chest bumping, but TB threw it all in and then became a turtle. I'M sorry......you really think you can win 4 out of 6 against these guys?

If someone was just shown stats, theyd be forgiven for assuming tam won. Led in faceoffs, shots, hits....but to no avail. Nice won by chi, who kept grinding.

I was referring to the lucky goal that dribbled in to put the Rangers up 1 game to none in the last series....from the posts here, you'd have thought they were already wheeling out the Stanley Cup for them.

As far as last night - Tampa owned Chicago for the first 12 minutes, then inexplicably went into some sort of a defensive mode which took them completely out of their game. Did Cooper really think that 1 goal was going to hold up?!

I can't explain it...just like I can't explain why Bishop stood halfway between the net and the bench for a full minute and a half, when the Lightning were already controlling the puck in Chicago's zone, before heading off.

They had control of the zone and were down a goal with 3 minutes left, you need to give your team a chance...Was he really that afraid of losing 3-1 instead of 2-1 ?

Strangest game I've seen them play all year by miles....

I think Game 2 will be much more of an even, up and down the ice game. TB won't dominate the first period this time, but I don't think they will play afraid in the third either. But they need to get their big boys going or start shaking lines up a bit..well..just because you need to once in a while.

Hawks looked tired early ( and TB was on fire ) so not sure if Q will keep Towes and Kane split or start them like last night. I'm thinking they stay split, at least for a while.

Agree Bob. I think Brenden Morrow said it best in the paper this morning:

>>>"There's a fine line between respect and fear," veteran wing Brenden Morrow said. "Give (the Blackhawks) respect. Can't fear them. It looked like in the third we were holding on, (we) feared maybe what might happen.

"We learned our lesson here."<<<

Look for a completely different Lightning team Saturday.

its a matter of talent..you can change any attitude you wish..the hawks played your team just as they wanted..let them burn out..and we take over..if you look at game 7 they took the game over from the puck drop and drove the ducks in the ground.. wishfull thinking rude..

satan's twin 06-04-2015 11:47 PM

The Hawks win this series in a walk. It took them four games to figure Anaheim out, caught them in regulation just before the end of the third period only to have a bad pass from Bickel cost them in OT. They then dominated games six and seven putting the second best team in hockey away for the year.Tampa is a fine team but they're not the Ducks and they certainly aren't the Blackhawks. Not on experience, not on grit, not on depth and not on talent. Hoofs is spot on. I'll be surprised if this series goes five games. It looks more like a sweep. I'd love to see it go to the sixth game with the Hawks clinching at home. I would make a killing scalping my seats but I'll take a series winner any way it comes.

I would hope you would only sell 3/4 as you can't miss that! And make sure the Section dress code rules are enforced so that any DEvil Ray Jersey's are confiscated immediately. This includes anything that says "Joe Madden".

Rudeboyelvis 06-05-2015 08:40 AM

Its "Joe Maddon", and he is already forgotten here. Good luck with his super-sized ego and average managerial talent - In the end he'll cost you more games than he'll win...we're just fine without him.

Is that quote gonna get Morrow and the rest of the bottom six to stop sucking so hard? Or get any D-man other than Hedman to be an impact player? Spinning a cliche postgame quote into the reason Tampa is suddenly gonna turn into something they're not is a pretty funny brand of self-delusion.

I'm trying to come up with something new, Joey. I was originally going to go with something like, "If all of our starters didn't have either a hangnail or a bad hair day we would be playing better" - but you already cornered the market ;)

Danzig 06-06-2015 08:48 PM

What's up with bishop, replaced for the second time tonite?

casp0555 06-06-2015 09:02 PM

That was exciting.... Coming from a not so hockey fan, can't wait for game 3

Danzig 06-06-2015 09:43 PM

Saw earlier that tam was perfect in game 2s this post season. I figured they'd win, because no way they lose both at home.

GBBob 06-06-2015 10:41 PM

Good forTB to get a win and better for Chicago to get the split. Pretty even game with a weak Crawford goal the winner. Triplets showed up but not sure what's up with Bishop....wish he had stayed in....it would be 2-0
