Greek Sun was retired over six months ago.
It's a shock, however, that it took so long for this crushing news to hit the press. |

He ran at Gulfstream, a couple of times, last winter.

I don't actually recall seeing him in about two years but can't keep track of every disappointing horse. I try though... :p |
The disappointment was that he had soundness issues. They certainly wanted to race him.

I tend to go overboard with how impressed i get but i really thought she was well, I won't use the word brilliant but..... Just wondering. I've asked around and no one has ever been able to give me an answer. Obviously, i really liked her. Thought you might know. |
I actually don't remember her.

Nice girl...... most people don't remember her but figured i'd try. Oh well. Thanks anyway. :) |
I don't pay much attention to California racing and probably even less so when she was running.

Because up until recently I had no real reason to and I spend more than enough time keeping up with the racing I do follow.

Proud Tower Too.....
UAE press... Tendon problem ends career of Proud Tower Too Plucky Proud Tower Too, who defeated eventual champion American sprinter Thor’s Echo to win the 2006 Dubai Golden Shaheen (Gr.1), has been retired after re-injuring a problematic tendon. Stud plans for the five-year-old son of Proud Irish out of the Irish Tower mare Dora’s Tower are not yet complete, but it appears likely that he will stand in California, where he first stepped into the spotlight by capturing the 2005 Malibu Stakes (Gr.1) at Santa Anita Park. He also conquered Thor’s Echo in that race. Owned and bred by Daniel Cardenas’s Tricar Stable, Proud Tower Too initially experienced tendon problems in March, when he was preparing to return to Dubai to defend his title in the Golden Shaheen. Given time off, he was put back in training this fall, but after a timed workout, trainer Sal Gonzalez found filling in the tendon again. A winner as a juvenile, Proud Tower Too also won the Sensational Star Handicap at Santa Anita and the On Trust Handicap at Hollywood Park, closing his career with a second by a neck to Latent Heat in the San Carlos Handicap (Gr.2) last February. |
