Marshmellow looks like he's trying to go New Jersey.
|
Wasn't Boro in Treasure of Sierra Madre?
|
What Boro does have is an excellent finishing pitching position.....it's throw the ball and then get into a great defensive stance.
With him....it's crossing his forearms over his face ..twisting the trunk and raising the right leg to protect important body components. |
Ladie and gentlemen...please view our DiamondsInTheRough scoreboard for the Indians pitching change along with player photo.
PITCHER........JOE BOROWSKI....... |
Boro has demanded the players union petition MLBB to allow him use of a batting practice protective screen on the mound when coming in to open....I mean close out a game.

What the Indians do is sign free agents for the bullpen....free agents who are coming off arm reattachment surgery.
His puffball trick worked last year. It isn't now. |

Once again Wedgie brings in the gasman to close out a game. Unfortunately for me I had the Indians parlayed witht he Pitt Pens -1.5. You figure the road team gets in at 2am and have their biggest stiff pitching youre supposed to win.

I was very surprised and obviously happy with what they did last year...but it is looking more like a year when everything goes right. How do you spell relief again? |
Why in gods name did Wedge bring in the firestarter? Let Bettancourt finish up the game for christsake. Most teams have a "closer" most "closers" dont throw 82MPH meatballs down the middle to Manny Ramirez. The way Blowrowski was throwing yesterday I doubt he could have shutdown a singe A team.

Pitch counts...set up guy...set sup the set up guy....left handed reliever to lefty hitters only...long relief guy......"closer"...and one or two more just in casers.
Man it's goofy now....and I agree. Unless the guy is tiring....no reason to take an effective pitcher out just because it's a "close" situation. It isn't....it's a "win the game logically" situation. |

that drives me crazy..you have your 7th Inning guy, your 8th Inning guy and your 9th inning guy..odds on each being perfect are slim..especially when you have JoBo looming in the 9th |
I think he's done.
That's why they signed mix and match free agents out of ICU.....Betancourt and them are closers in waiting....but I would bet the waiting is over. |
Sparky Lyle?

!! Why not? |

It's odd....his pitches were slow in spring traning, too, but they said there was no problem....he'll get there.
Funny how this all works. Sounds like horse racing in a way. |
I feel like Betancourt will do it,though. He's very good and believe his head can handle it...and he's a very modest and very real down to Earth guy. Not that Borowski isn't...he seems like a good guy.
Too bad. |
The attention to me has fallen off again.
Boy I hate that. |
I believe Borowski is from Bayonne, NJ.
Guys from there ain't exactly known for avoiding punishment, if ya know what ahm sayin, Avery. |

But if you promote Betancourt to closer and everyone moves up accordingly, who then becomes the all important 6th inning, Tuesday and Thursday night, left handed set up man |

How goes it dude? Yup...I get you. He does seem mentally tough to be honest....but he just has nothing. Even last year---no idea how he did it. Now we're gonna get you guys who have finally learned how to hit. ;) |

That was great!!..thanks!
Several people here will gag...but I met him when he was promoting his tomato sauce......good guy. I recall he and Graziano were friends, and you know Graziano was tough. Well supposedly they were to fight a couple of times, but it never happened. A legendary ref from that time was quoted as saying.....Graziano didn't want the fight.....there's no way he wanted any part of Lamotta. Now if true....that's pretty tough. |

It would be an honor to meet him. Raging Bull is one of, if not my all time favorite movie. |
You know it!!
Since ya did ask...it was around '95 that he toured to push LaMotta's Tomato Sauce. He was at a food store (well that was dumb...like it would be a hardware store----but anyhooo) in Chagrin Falls...a snooty town. I get there and he's on a chair at the end of an aisle with his son. NOBODY is with him. Al these people are more interested in wines and organic fruits. I didn't come for an autograph or anything ...just to meet him. So I walk over and brilliantly say............................................Hi. ror!!...they were really nice. I never got into anything about the movie or boxing...just said it's very nice to meet you. There was a lady sitting by him with a table and boxes of this stuff. If you bought one...he signed it! So.I get carried away easily, I bought like 7. My Mother,Father, sisters, and some others. On my Moms he puts...To the Boss! Really! So he and his son start talking and the lady take sadvantage and whispers....do you know these are ( and they were small jars..not big at all) $3.75 each? I said WHAT!!???? ROR!!...NO MORE SAUCEY!! I got to talking with his son because Jake was slow and getting over a cold or sOmething---he mentioned he got irritated easily although he was very nice to me. His son was great...talked about this and that......then he asked if I had a camera. I said ...no. He MADE me go up front where the throw aways were...he said you buy one and I'll take your photo with my Dad. I hate that.....but went ...and came back to thank them just saying I couldn't find the cameras. He TAKES me up front...physically takes me to show me where they are. So I get one and stand behind Jake and his son snaps the photo. We start talking again and I notice a guy walks over to Jake....really overbearing type.....Hey Jake!! How ya doin'!!...Great to meet ya!!..Hey---what about DeNiro in that movie??..Hey....................ror!...about that time he calls his son over( I'm seeing all this) and I could hear him say...something like---get ridda this guy. It was really funny. They were both nice guys. I hate to say this, but one year later his son was killed in an airplane crash. I can't tell you how nice his son was. Hope you liked the story. |
That's quality entertainment (although too bad about the son).
So did you end up keeping the autographed sauce, or not? And is that mdf-Lamotta photo available somewhere? That is one legendary picture. |
I still have it..and so does Mom.
He looked like that late photo in your link....pretty much just like that. He was 74 then ...almost sure....but you would recognize him in a minute. He was in a chair and 74...but my guess is he was never over 5 foot 5. The photo is encased in a sealed glass display....and is under a 24 hour raccooon guard...so no. But I really do have it. And it was very sad about that guy. You just wouldn't believe how nice and Earthy he was. Jake was really cool ..he really was....but you could see one very bad man was still inside him!! |
Oh ...et the sauce...kept the jar.
It wasn't that good..to be honest. |
ror!
He was and probably still is a very bad man. |
