Anything is yummy when I'm sloshed. Where do you recommend going for good food?

blackthroatedwind 06-26-2007 10:32 PM

I've already shared my food thoughts about Saratoga......and they don't include most of the places people like.

Just load up at the Carolina Barbeque.

He took my forum virginity in that one!!!

But I will say if you like Mexican...Filiberto Leon's is a must when in Saratoga!!!

To each his own...I love the ambiance of both Grey Gelding & Tiznows. Both cook a good filet and the GG has a good wine list.

I haven't eaten at the Grey Gelding but I had drinks there the last time I was in town.

Tiznow is a nice place but I give up on their food. I've eaten there a few times and I just don't like it.

Honestly I don't think anything in Saratoga matches up to my favorite spots in Newport, RI and because of this I stick with my main staples of Cobb Salads or filets which are pretty hard to screw up if you cook it med rare.

I do think the Horseshoe and Parting Glass seem dirty.

XIIPointStables 06-27-2007 09:14 AM

That food thread from last year is classic.

I had no idea people actually ATE at Gaffney's!

I like the Ripe Tomato out near Malta. As a group we tried Doc's Steakhouse last year for the first time. It was okay, but I'm not sure we'd go back.

Looking for a dinner spot for Thursday/Friday of Travers Week. Any suggestions taken as we're looking to try some new spots.

Scav & Cajun -
Our office just got faxed an ad for Executive Transport near the Airport. They charge $55/hr for car service or $65/hr for a Tahoe all vehicles are black with tinted windows to truly give you that pimped out feeling. Here is the number if you're interested 518-669-4373.

That's it? That's almost less than a cab. Thanks for the info, Sight!

Lets play a tourney and give the winnings to some retirement fund. Byk could get 500 people there because he knows the world, $50 buy in, that is 25k to something that is good

Was at the Training Track in Saratoga (aka the Oklahoma Training Track) this AM...Nick Zito, Bill Mott, Jim Bond, Bobby Reinacher were there directing their riders (who said trainers are never at the barns??)...among the other saddle cloths that I recognized were Clement, Hennig, Contessa, Pletcher, Linda Rice, McGaughey, Hough, Dutrow...
Usually not a bad way to spend an early morning, but today it got pretty warm in a hurry.

Thanks PD. Much appreciated,

Hopefully I'll be able to sneak up a few times this season and try all four of these!

Awesome, have a great time!

You guys should set up your own racing contest for that 1st Saturday...turn your picks in to BYK by 1 st race. DT live contest!

PantyLust will already be up there...

It will be just you, Morty and your F-350.

All kidding aside, just checked on pricing for a stretch limo and it's only $135 all inclusive. Scavs wants to ride to Toga in style. Personally, I think the black towncar sounds nice enough, but hey... lol.

Steve's got enough on his plate (no pun inteded) at Toga. Someone else would have to step up and run it.

Thought you would be nice to Morty and give him a tow... Lord knows that even with the amount of lip flapping he does, it's going to be a long trip for him in that POS. :D
