If his daddy hadn't pulled strings to get his son safely into the Texas National Guard, and Dubya had actually gone overseas, maybe Dubya would have had a different perspective on war.

Mind you, I certainly get why Bush Sr. did it; having seen combat himself, he knew what was at stake and was going to pull every string he could to make sure he didn't risk losing his sons to it.
