The Penguins were downright disgraceful yesterday. And I was a little embarrassed for Sidney after hearing his comments after the game. The guy's won a Hart, a Cup, and has worn the "C" since he was 21. Act like you've been there before. Could you imagine Lidstrom or Lemieux or Yzerman or Messier or Gretzky or <insert captain here> pulling some of that nonsense that he pulls on a nightly basis? And the Penguins tolerate it - that's the most disappointing part.

mario used to be a voice against shenanigans like yesterday. i guess that's no longer the case. of course, as long as he kept cook on the roster, it was pretty evident he didn't walk the walk while talking the talk. i haven't gone and watched the infamous evander kane knockout of that bozo in a while; i guess it's time!
and malkin yesterday...kept his hands to himself until someone else grabbed a flyer to keep the guy off him, so then he decides to give a shove. they've completely lost all composure, jsut like in the game that caused the glass jaw incident i cited above. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ype03NPym2o couldn't have happened to a nicer guy. |

i'm sure they can school you in a variety of ways of cursing that one. i'm figuring you weren't wearing a pens jersey, right? i don't think i'd dare wear an away team jersey in that place. |

i am well aware of the caps and their postseason records. been a fan since they started in the league when i was a kid.
asham, neal hearings tomorrow. wonder which of the two hits by neal will get the bigger penalty? couterier wasn't on the puck, he left his feet when he hit the rookie. than there was his blatant hit on giroux, clearly aiming for the guys' head. as for asham, i think he should be sent to the khl. :D |

mayhem reigns... and they're right, they should have set the tone early on. now it's become a free for all. i love big hits...but not blatant elbows and cross-checks to the throat, not taking cheap shots or slamming someone who's not even on the puck. |

i'm figuring they'll give him games, but that it'll follow over into next season. i don't expect the series to go on much longer! i'm pretty sure asham is a repeat offender... as for neal? who knows, after seeing some of the other 'punishments' handed out. |

Adjudicating based on result as opposed to action is troubling to begin with. But now in the Playoffs, it's even more absurd and prone to being taken advantage of. IF Alfredson had a concussion, he shouldn't play tonight, for sure. If he plays tonight, and the rest of the series, I question the definition of concussion. I still blame the NHL and the officiating crews for not taking control of these games. But the NHL wanted robot referees who don't think for themselves, just do what they are told, and this is what we have because of it. |

:tro: crosby's healthy again; they don't care about concussions right now. some of these guys will be like bart at the beginning of the simpsons, writing 'i will not elbow opposing players' 100 times on the chalkboard. |
Ovechkin is 7,000 times the captain that Crosby is. He might step over the line occasionally, but you will never, ever see him pull some of the nonsense that Crosby has pulled already in his short career.
Looking at the tape from yesterday, the Penguins who legitimately deserve suspensions are Neal, Asham, Letang, and Craig Adams. I'd guess only two of those guys will end up serving time, but Letang going after a guy like Timonen and Adams pummeling Hartnell from behind whilst he was locked up with Crosby would also be worthy of supplemental discipline in the regular season. |
