That's why I always appreciate you, Mike.

You may be ornery some times ... but you do know how to read.

Communication and the ability to read people is also a lost art. You side with this guy because he agrees with you Oracle? That is not smart.

So BB... Blacks in the 50's were in great shape in the US. Why did they fall for welfare? He wont answer.

Oracle you lose credibility when you side with someone just because they agree with you. Snake oil salesman. Would not trust him in any situation based on his posts. I have always taken Oracle to be a standup guy, very opinionated and stubborn, but standup. Bold B. You have made it very clear you cannot be trusted based on your posts. Maybe in the flesh you dont try this BS trickery.

I second that. This has turned into a real c o c k fight. Yes, I said c o c k. LOL.
I'm trying to add some humor to this post. Besides, I love Lawyer Ron, and would really like to talk about him. I'll start by saying that, "HIS ST. LOUIS DERBY WAS AN AWESOME COMEBACK RACE OFF OF THE LAYOFF. DOES ANYONE ELSE AGREE WITH THIS? OF COURSE, I DON'T THINK THAT IT WAS REALLY AS GOOD AS DISCREET CAT'S COMEBACK."

sumitas 08-27-2006 09:07 PM

i agree...glad to see him back and hope he improves off this last race.

Yeah, Mike ... you shouldn't have anything to do with me ... because I believe it was foolish for some African-Americans ... as well as others of all races ... to have bought into the welfare state ... and to have allowed themselves to become wards of the government ... instead of being self-reliant.

See? See what a bad guy I really am?

It's OK, Mike ... I'll understand it ... if you never want to have anything to do with me again.

pgardn 08-27-2006 09:09 PM

Think its going to be tough for him to win the best 3yo award.
See I can go out on a limb.

Yayyy, someone is actually talking about Lawyer Ron. I really think that he will improve too. He ran a very good 103 BSF, and really exhibited a good turn of foot in the stretch. This may be a very good horse, but it is really hard to rank him against the other three year olds until he makes a few more starts back. I think he will win the Super Derby for fun if he's still pointed to the race.

GenuineRisk 08-27-2006 09:13 PM

LAWYER RON. WANT TO TALK ABOUT LAWYER RON. LAWYER RON. YES, I'M SHOUTING.

Kentucky, he was my Derby pick because I'm a sucker for the iron horses-- I loved that he ran so often and I think he's a real fighter who always gives it his best. I'm so thrilled he's back and am already daydreaming that he'll be back in '07 and be a graded winner at 4, too. He wasn't graded as a two-year-old, right?

Yep another distortion just as I thought. Thats the only thing you are worth on this board. Its sometimes fun to box you in. But I have not the time to wade thru all your BS. Jesse Jackson would be jealous.

Lawyer Ron.

GenuineRisk 08-27-2006 09:22 PM

pgardn, I posted a math joke on the JV thread for you. :)

Lawyer Ron.

Please explain to the good and honorable members of this forum ...

... how it's a distortion for me to publicly state my true belief about a general socioeconomic matter?

Danzig 08-27-2006 09:24 PM

i guess it would be too much to ask that you take your off topic discussions to the off topic section of the board....

yet another racing topic hijacked. wonderful.

So you truly believe the Black population, on the whole, had the same socioeconomic status of the Caucasion population, on the whole, in the 1950's?

Nice touch with the please tell the board. Man you are so predictable. But you did make me post. I will give you that.

Lawyer Ron.

sumitas 08-27-2006 09:27 PM

i will say that many have squandered an opportunity for jobs. content to be "porch monkeys". But the majority of blacks have my respect as hard working , decent people.

however, a 99% illegitimate birth rate is nothing to be proud if.

He was my derby pick too and I have stuck with him through thick and thin even when most others called him overrated after his poor Derby performance. I absolutely love horses like him and Lava Man. No, he wasn't a graded stakes winner as a two year old. Back then, they were running him on the turf which he didn't take to. He turned into quite the runner when they switched him to the dirt. I think his Derby was misleading because he obviously didn't fire his best shot that day. I really think he was hurting and that is why he had surgery immediately after the Derby. It really is nice to have him back showing the world just what a runner and a fighter he is. He kind of reminds me of Afleet Alex for some reason. It may be that determination...I just can't quite put my finger on it. I think that he will improve with every start and may even be a late bloomer. His BSF was quite good in the St. Louis Derby.

sumitas 08-27-2006 09:35 PM

he was a top 3 yr old before the Derby. glad to see him back and hope he loves to run again and challenge for honors.

GenuineRisk 08-27-2006 09:38 PM

In the "It can't hurt to ask" department, I just emailed ntra.com to see if maybe they'd put the St. Louis Derby in the video archive. I said I and a lot of LR fans weren't able to see the race and really would like to...

Feel free to email them, too-- maybe if enough of us ask...

Here's to the iron horses!
