Since you think its okay for a healthy American to pay more for thier health insurance so you dont have to pay alot, can you help me with paying for college for my son?

Didnt I earn the right to collect a pension by volunteering 20 years in the military? Maybe this country should go to a draft. More people will realize that military life isnt fun all the time. You must enjoy having your nose up the Democrat party's rear end. Hopefully in November the Democrat party will have a rude awakening and regret passing the health reform bill. Then lets see if O'Dumbass gets anything to pass. Im sure if the Republican party passes a bill just like the Democrats just did O'Dumbass will use his power of veto to spite the Rebuplican party.

He did help pay for your kid's education- it's called public education and you get it through grade 12. It's the reason the US has a very high literacy rate. One of the things I find ridiculous is areas where elderly people who are exempted from school taxes because they don't have kids. Listen, you old fraks, I'm paying for your Social Security; the least you can do is pay for the kid down the street's damn grade school education so hopefully he can grow up to be someone who can hold a decent job and not be a punk who is going to mug me decades later on the way to the bank to deposit my Social Security check.

The reason young healthy people should be paying into a health system is because what drives insurance costs down for everyone is having a mix of both healthy and sick people in a policy. It's the reason insurance is cheaper for large companies and impossibly expensive for small ones- large companies have a larger pool of applicants, many of whom won't need much in the way of health care because they're healthier than others. Insurance companies assume that people buying individual care are only doing so because they are sick and charge them accordingly. Without healthy people in a health care system, prices continue to go up. It's why Europeans pay less for health care and get more from it than we do (yes, they do. Sorry guys. FOX is lying to you). Since everyone is paying into the system, via taxes, the risk is spread out and average costs drop.

Insurance depends on a lot of people who aren't going to need to collect on it paying into a system on the off chance they might need it. People trying to buy individual policies are not being permitted into the system.

Not to mention, people without insurance have no bargaining power, and hospitals charge them anywhere from 100 to 400 percent more than they charge insured people- to make up for people who can't pay for their hospital bills. So they people who can't afford insurance are getting charged more for the same service than the people who have it, because the insurance companies have negotiated steep discounts for services.

This is a very simplistic explanation, I know, but the misinformation about health care is pretty astounding.

A capitalist would say no. After all the Enron rank-and-file employees thought they had a right to their pensions, too, but the bigwigs had other ideas.

You have a guaranteed pension because you have been a government employee. The government is providing for you, through my taxes. They are giving you a safety net. And you begrudge kids with cancer a government provided safety net, too? Wow.

Let me sum up ObamaCare:
We need doctors...we got IRS agents!

This is incredibly misinformed.

The old fraks who payed into the SS system for 40 years no doubt should be indebted to you for paying their SS for them.

Hard to believe that someone who most likely a card carrying member of the ACLU would think that people should be forced into buying health insurance. Of course individual rights are always trampled on by the left when it serves their purpose to do so.

Insurance companies assume that individuals who buy policies are already sick? And Fox news is lying?

Healthy people trying to buy individual policies are being denied?

Hospitals are willing to take a small fraction of what an uninsured patients is billed. While I hate to inject personal experiences I was treated for kidney stones this Spring during a lapse in our coverage. Because I was uninsured they were willing to take $1100 cash on a $7300 bill that they thought was covered by Blue Cross. They almost assuredly wrote off the rest.

Im paying taxes also in case you forgot. As far as healthy people paying more than the average or unhealthy person to me thats discrimination. Everyone should pay the same. Why should a healthy person have to support an unhealthy person? Its not thier fault a person is unhealthy. Bad luck on the unhealthy person. We always have people who want others to feel sorry for them or they want the free handouts. To me they are a taxpayer's burden and are worthless.

I love how people try to explain away the views of conservatives by denouncing Fox News. yeah right, thats where we get all our instructions and information.

The main things that we know for sure about the bill that passed (I call it Destination Detroit because that is where we're heading) is that we will spend more than we did before on heathcare, that it will add to the deficit, that services will be rationed more than they are now, that innovations will slowdown, that much more private wealth will be controlled by government, that government will now have an avenue to control nearly every detail of your life, and that it will make our industries less competitive.

Great job statists!!!:tro:

No, you didn't EARN the right. It's a benefit provided by employment, just like your HEALTHCARE. A vast majority of Americans don't get a pension- less than 20% at this point (by definition, PAID IN FULL BY THE EMPLOYER, in your case the federal government)- in fact only 50% of Americans even work for a company which sponsors a retirement plan at all, which includes 401k's or 403b's- since you probably don't know what those are, it's tax beneficial retirement savings PAID FOR BY THE EMPLOYEE.

You are the last person that should be complaining about handouts from the Fed.

A person like you is why there should be a draft. Obviously you could care less about the military. Yes I have heard of a 401k plan. Just because you didn't join the military doesnt mean I don't deserve to enjoy my retirement pay. People like me volunteered 20 years of our life so people like you don't get drafted!!!
BTW I enjoy my health insurance and am very happy I dont have to deal with Obamacare. He can take that bill and shove it you know where.

at some point we will not be able to sell bonds to china , japan ,etc etc to fund our defecits , what will happen then , we will get hyper-inflation where the gov't just prints $$$$ and more $$$$ , then the pension that you get each month nascar will buy a loaf of bread , it's sad but that is the direction we are heading unless the runaway spending stops
